Theseus
Click on the picture to go to the special page about Theseus, King Minos, the Minotaur and Crete !

Son of King Aegeus. The picture at left depicts Theseus lifting the massive rock under which his father had placed his (Aegeus') sword and sandals to test the manhood of his young son. His most famous adventure was the slaying of the Minotaur, which he accomplished with the help of Ariadne, daughter of King Minos of Crete, whom he later abandoned. In the land of the Amazons he abducted Antiope or Hippolyta (different myths), who bore him Hippolytus. She was later killed,
and Theseus then married Phaedra. When he and his friend Peirithoüs attempted to take Persephone from Hades, they were imprisoned there until Hercules rescued Theseus. He was murdered by King Lycomedes.

Ate
She was the Goddess of Evil and Misfortune. She was, (surprise surprise) the daughter of Eris and Zeus. She was banished from Olympus for causing mischief among the Gods. She has sisters, the Litai, who follow her around and clean up her messes. She is also the personification of infatuation.

Apate
Apate was the Goddess of Deceit, she was one of the Spirits in Pandora's box. Her parents were Nyx and Erebus.

Leucotha
The woman Ino married a married man, Athamas. She tried to make Athamas sacrifice his son Phrixes (it didn't happen, but that was how Helle, Phrixes' sister ended up dying). Anyway, Hera killed Ino, but Zeus made Ino into the Sea Goddess, Leucotha, or White Goddess, because she had raised Dionysus.

Myrrah
The unfortunate Myrrah being turned into a tree at the very moment of Adonis' birth. The
story goes that she developed an unnatural passion for her father Cinyras, king of Cyprus,
and tricked him into her loving embrace. When he discovered the trickery, and that she was pregnant, he attempted to kill her. She escaped, and while giving birth to Adonis was transformed into a myrrh tree.

Alcmene
In Greek mythology, Alcmene is the virgin Goddess of Midwinter, Midwinter's Moon, the New Year, Stateliness, Beauty and Wisdom.

Enyo
Enyo gets to be in The Iliad; Enyo was the Goddess of War, she led the Trojans with Ares. Her companions were Pain, Famine, and Panic. Enyo is one of the Graiae (the Three Gray Sisters) Enyo is also the mother of Eris.

Eris
Eris was the constant companion of Ares (the God of War). Eris was the Spirit of Discord as well as the Goddess of Strife. She had a son who's name I currently forget, but will write whenever I find my notes. She is most known for throwing the Golden Apple of Discord, which, by the way, began the Trojan War through Aphrodite. Eris was also said to be the twin of Ares.

Hermaphroditus
This was a creature that was partly male and partly female. One legend has him being a handsome male, the son of Hermes and Aphrodite. Supposedly a nymph fell in love with him and
beseeched the gods to be forever united with him. They answered her prayers by fusing the two
together thereby creating a being that was half male and half female.

Nike
Nike was similar to Eris because she was the constant companion to Athena. Nike was
the Goddess of Victory. She was the daughter of the Titan Pallas and the River Styx. She does
not possess a distinct personality in any myths I've seen.

Erida
Erida is Hate. In the Iliad she was sent by Zeus to the Achaians encampment. There she SCREAMS, when the men awoke they had forgotten their wives and children and were filled with Hate. She could only be appeased once blood was spilled. She was a sister and companion of Ares.

Aidos
She was the Goddess of Justice and sort of the embodiment of a Conscience.  She was a really important idea to the ancient Greeks. She tells people to look at  from all perspectives and to walk in the other guy's shoes.

Astraea
Astraea was a Goddess of Justice, Innocence, and Purity. It is generally accepted that she was the daughter of Themis and of Zeus. She was the last immortal to withdraw from the Earth after the Golden Age. It was she that held aloft the scales weighing the opposing parties claims. When she joined the rest of the Gods in the stars,  she became the constellation Virgo.
