Illusions of the Mind
                                Chapter 4

"First the man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, and
finally the drink takes the man,"
                        -Chinese saying

Mirage entered his father's quarters, the messenger Cyclone at his
side. He saw his father sitting proudly on his 'throne', his two bodyguards
Pyro and Havoc standing beside him. If not for the shifting of their eyes
when they saw the two ninjas enter the room, one may assume that Pyro and
Havoc were simply stautes at the leader's side.
The leader averted his eyes upward when he noticed his son enter the
room. He smiled, a strange thing for him, and Mirage knew right then that
something was up.
"Thank you, Cyclone, you may go now," he said to the white clad
ninja, dismissing him with a wave of his hand.
Cyclone bowed low, turned, and left the room, leaving Mirage alone
in the room with his father and his two motionless bodyguards. But it was
then that he realized that they weren't the only ones in the room. A slight
movement made Mirage shift his eyes to his father's right, behind Pyro, in a
dark corner. A flicker of candle light momentarily reviled the forms of
three cyber-ninjas: Smoke and Sektor, and another that Mirage didn't
recognize. They were as motionless as Pyro and Havoc.
Mirage then became a little worried. What did his father want to see
him about that involved three cybers and his bodyguards? Plus the fact that
his father was smiling, Mirage became very nervous.
"I'm glad you came so quickly, Mirage, there's something very
important I need to speak with you about," his father said, rubbing his
hands together.
Mirage ed an eyebrow. "What's so special that it involves three
cybers, Pyro and Havoc?" Glancing at the bodyguards after his words were
spoken, Mirage saw that they still showed no emotion.
"Oh, this is VERY important," he father replied, his eyes widening.
As soon as the words escaped his mouth, even without a command, Pyro moved,
leaning to his left and hitting a switch on the back of the leader's throne.
A loud jerk of metal sounded through the room, and was followed
directly by the sound of a large metal object moving.
The wall behind his father split evenly down the middle, and slowly
the two ends began to move away from each other, like the opening of a movie
screen.
Mirage was shocked at what was behind the wall. Glass was reviled
behind the moving barrier, and inside Mirage could see the Lin Kuei
automation lab. That was when he heard the scream.
"Let me the hell go, you stupid motherf***ers!! Don't make me burn
your sutpid asses!!"
When the shock set in, Mirage was hardly able to speak. A ninja was
reviled behind the glass, being held by two more ninjas, with another, the
new Lin Kuei automater, fiddling with a siring.
"Eclipse?" Mirage muttered, the pain coming after the shock.
"I really don't understand your brother, Mirage," his father said
calmly, his hand resting in his palm. "He didn't seem to like the idea of
being improved,"
