These creatures are not as tame as Piranha Plants and as such they are not found as often in the Mushroom Kingdom: even the Koopa Troop doesn't use them. They may have been herded into battle by Smithy's troops during his invasion on the Mushroom World. Apparently Shy Aways are able to get along with this creature quite well, and Chewies have been seen defending the flying plant-lovers.
Attack Pattern: They use a large range of special attacks including Pollen Nap which will put one character to sleep and two different Drain attacks.
Basic Strategies: It is a good idea to fight these monsters early, because if they put your party members to sleep the battle can quickly turn in the monsters' favour. Most magic attacks are ineffective, but Geno may have some useful tricks up his sleeve. They can withstand 2-3 timed hits.
Advanced Strategies: Geno Beam or Geno Blast will beat these monsters with one hit, so use him if you want to end the battle quickly. Regular attacks using timed-hits are good too, it will take a bit longer to beat them, but you may get an Attack Up.
When using regular attacks, Chewy approaches one character and bites him about three times. Press A around the end of the last chomp and you'll block it - accuracy is not too important.
