BACKGROUND: Crusties are rare crabs that live in the sea around Jonathan Jones' ship. It is quite unusual for an adventurer to run into one of these purple beasts. It is also quite dangerous! Crusties can cause considerable damage with their giant claws and hard shells make them difficult to hurt with physical attacks.
While these wild creatures have no specific affiliations, they are suspected to be loyal to Jonathan Jones, like most of the sea creatures living in the area. They are very aggressive, so don't get close to them unless you are an experienced fighter!
QUOTES: "Look at THIS!" - Super Mario RPG.
BATTLE PLAN:
Attack Pattern: Crusty is a bit rare. You may find these guys in a group with Bloobers, or Mr. Kippers, but you won't see them often. They attack with powerful claws and occasionally poison one character with a Poison Orb attack. Krusties aren't that hard to beat, but they take more out of your party than most ordinary enemies.
Basic Fighting Strategies: Crusty will take quite a while to defeat with regular attacks because of his hard shell, up to five timed-hits! Jump attacks are useless and Poison and Terrorize work reasonably well, but no better than regular attacks. Geno Beam, Fire and Thunder attacks are the most powerful against Crusty.
Advanced Strategies: If Mallow is in your party, it is a good idea to have the other characters shower Crusty with timed-hits while Mallow uses Thunderbolt. Mallow will defeat or significantly weaken all enemies with this attack, then the whole partyracters can finish any remaining enemies with timed-hits. If you want to beat Crusty right away, use special attacks (especially Fire Orb and Geno Beam).
Crusty's regular attack is quite hard to block because he doesn't move and it happens very quickly. Essentially, he quickly "pinches" one character with a claw. Try to press A right at the end of the pinch.
