Torte has an apprentice who he enjoys bossing around and insulting, but he is secretly proud of his apprentice's work. Together, the two of them are among the greatest Koopa celebrities around, and they helped to change the perception that Koopas are evil.
Torte is very demanding, and does not like people crowding his kitchen. The administration at Marrymore work hard to ensure that he is happy, as his food is one of Marrymore's main attractions.
"On the right side of the chapel, you'll find a secret entrance to the kitchens beneath the chapel. There you'll find Chef Torge and his assistant putting the finishing touches on Booster's impressive wedding cake. If you jump onto the cake (hey, it could happen), Torte will shoo you away."

"Most chefs take their food very seriously, but Chef Torte of the Marrymore chapel gets so worked up over his cakes that he will fight you just for not taking a bite out of his latest confectionary creation. After all, what is a cake for if not to be eaten? You may also have a confrontation with Torte down in the kitchens, but at least there he won't slap you around with a spatula or beat you on the head with a basting brush. Whatever you do, don't step on the cake. Torte really hates that."

Attack Pattern: Chef Torte and his apprentice attack Mario and company when they try to leave the wedding chapel without eating the delicious wedding cake. They rely entirely on sissy regular attacks.
Basic Strategies: Despite the stats given by the official strategy guide, it seems to be impossible to actually injure Chef Torte or his apprentice. Instead you should attack Bundt, the wedding cake.
Advanced Strategies: Chef Torte and his apprentice both run up to one character, and start "slapping" rapidly. Press A when the slapping ends (around the fourth or fifth slap) to block them.
