Yaridovich is a master of disguise, he can change shape and create multiple images of himself at will, but the number of colours he can use is limited, making it easier to spot him in disguise. This villain is not one to mess with, but he was defeated by Mario and company on the shores of Seaside Town so he shouldn't be a threat to travelers in the Mushroom World now.

Before chasing after him, resupply yourself with Mid Mushrooms and Maple Syrup. You'll be glad you did. During the battle with Yaridovich, you'll encounter the puzzling Mirage attack, the effect of which is to make a second Yaridovich appear and attack you. Go in swinging with Mario, Toadstool and Mallow. Mallow's Thunderbolt attack cripples Yaridovich, and Toadstool's Group Hug keeps your party on its toes. Attack Pattern: When you bring the Star Piece from the Sunken Ship back to Seaside Town, Yaridovich will reveal himself. He will then torture the real Elder with a feather until you hand over the Star.
You can catch up with him as he's trying to make his escape. He uses lots of magic attacks. The most interesting one is Mirage, which causes Yaridovich to split in two, one real and one a decoy. He also uses Water Blast, which causes major damage to all of your party members. Pierce and Flame Stone also cause quite a bit of damage but only hit one character. When he's split in two, Yaridovich gets two attacks, but he tends to use regular attacks.
Basic Fighting Strategies: Few magic attacks work well, the most useful magic is healing magic because of Yaridovich's powerful attacks. Mallow's thunder attacks are decent but not as good as the official Player's Guide claims. You should concentrate on regular attacks and use Geno Boost if you can. If you have any bombs, you could use one, but you may want to save it. Keep everyone's HP over 70 at all times and have a couple of Pick Me Ups on hand.
Advanced Strategies: The best party is Mario, Geno and Princess Peach. Have Peach keep everyone's HP up with Group Hugs and Geno can use his Boost to increase attack power. If you don't have the Princess or Mallow in your party, beating Yaridovich will be very hard and you'll need lots of healing items.
You can figure out which Yaridovich is the fake by attacking each of them and seeing which takes less damage. The one that takes less damage is the real Yaridovich, don't waste your time fighting the fake one. When Yaridovich does a regular attack, he pulls of his head and stabs you with hit. Try to press A at the end of his stabbing motion to block. You can also try to block the Pierce attack this way.
When you rescue the people of Seaside Town the Elder will give you a reward for saving them: you will get a Flower Box if you didn't let Yaridovich tickle the Elder at all, a Flower Jar if he was tickled once, a Flower Tab if he was tickled twice, and nothing if he was tickled more than twice.
