Final Fantasy 7: Dark Epic
Chapter 1 "Gemini Complex"

    The city of Midgar rest quietly over the barren wasteland; the massive city glows with numerous lights as the residents of the city move along their business. Cars roll down the busy streets as pedestrian wander the sidewalk searching for their own things. Amidst all the congestion, a young girl bearing a basket full a flower slowly made her way threw the crowd. Stopping in her tracks for a moment, she turn her head back as she gaze upon the towering building as the heart of the city. The Shinra HQ stood there towering over all the people, as it seemed to keep a silent watch over them all. Her attention was diverted as the low rumbling of a train pass by as it made its way to its own destination.
    The train slowly pulls into the station before the district 1 Mako reactor as it slowly came to a stop sending a cloud of smoke into the two sentries stationed. The two coughed a little before the smoke clear and they could both clearly see the train before them.
    Scratching his head, Sentry 1 mutter, "I don't recall any trains coming in here today?" Turning to the other sentry, he barks, "You better call Headquarter and ask them about this." The other Sentry nods and reaches into his belt for his phone.
    "Now!"
    Sentry 1 turn his head back to the train, just in time to see a foot coming straight at him. Sentry 1 mask was shattered as the kick sends him slamming into the wall. The other sentry stood speechless as he stare at Sentry 1 assailant, a mask guy wearing a bandana with short black spike hair dress in a combat guerrilla gear. Quickly moving for his gun, the other sentry found it missing from his holster, before he could react he heard a click and then a shot rang out. The other sentry led an incompressible noise as he clutch the hole in his chest and collapse into a puddle of blood.
    The masked nod to the brown hair girl as she drop the sentry gun and the two hurry off, as a fat guy slowly hop down from the train trying to follow them. Soon a big black man with a gun for a right hand came out scanning the area. Please with what he saw he step out of the train and cross his arm.
    "Come on new guy!" he barks as he raced off after the other three.
    Leaping of from the top of the train an armor clad SOLDIER scan his surrounding through the visor of his helmet as pull out his long blade from it sheath on his back. Looting the two dead sentry of some item, he quietly stroll after the others scanning for any sign of an enemy. Hearing a crack from alleyway before him, the SOLDIER swung his sword out beheading the incoming MP as the guy turn the corner.  Dashing low he cleave the next MP in half as the guy came out rifle firing.  Satisfy that his enemies have been dealt with he put his word back and continue.
    Approaching the gateway where the first three were huddling in front of the lock, the SOLDIER mutters, "How much longer, Jessie?"
    The Jessie shrug as she mutter, "The password is almost decipher give thirty more seconds."
    "Hard to believe that a SOLDIER from Shinra would actually join the Avalanche, eh Wedge?" Biggs chuckle to himself. Wedge chuckle slightly at the comment, as he stilled kept a steady eye on the SOLDIER as he scans the area.
    The silence was abruptly broken as the sounds of gunfire was heard from the distance, grumbling the Soldier bark, "Seems the other are having a hard time keeping the other guards from coming."
    "What the hell are you doing as a group?" Barret scream as he came charging in from the distance. Just as suddenly Barret appear the gateway let out a ping and open. Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge quickly charge in as Barret and the SOLDIER stood there.
    Looking at the SOLDIER, Barret sneer, "Don't trust you." Giving a snort the two quickly charge into the reactor after the others. The two eventually came to a stop in the crossroad that led in and out of the reactor. Signaling Wedge took position in front of the exit as the others quickly charge into the reactor.
    As they slowly made their way to the control room, Barret bark, "Which is the fastest way to the core of the reactor, SOLDEIR?"
    The SOLDIER retort, "The best way to get there is to use the emergency elevator, but it requires one person to monitor it from the control room and another inside so the doors may open."
    "Is that right," Barret mutter to himself as he rub his chin, "Biggs you take the control room position and Jessie I want you in the elevator. SOLDIER you're coming with me to make sure nothing go wrongs or you try to pull something funny."
The three quickly enter the elevator as Biggs unlock its safeguards. Jessie quickly pushes the button to the reactor level as the door close behind them.
    Leaning against the wall, the SOLDIER asks, "Why are we blowing up the Reactor, other than for a show to Shinra?"
    Grumbling something, Barret reply, "Because the damn Shinra is using the reactors for their own filthy profit while at the same time killing the planet." SOLDIER burst out laughing at Barret's response, growling Barret demand, "And what's so funny you damn Shinra flunky."
    Stopping his laughter the SOLDIER chuckle, "You Avalanche are such idiots, Shinra stop pumping out mako over three years ago."
    Squeezing his hand into a fist Barret sneer, "Then how do they power the city then, Mister know it all?"
    Shrugging, SOLDIER answer, "They use a specially create Materia that can produce an unlimited of energy in each reactors and just have the reactor harvest the energy. It's totally harmless to the planet."
    "That's a bunch of Shinra trash." Barret growl back slamming his fist against the wall.
    "We're here." Jessie said interrupting the two.
    Barret and SOLDIER slowly made their way down the narrow walkway as they reach the core of the Reactor. The area had numerous pipes sticking out of everywhere as they quickly pump energy into the city outside. Below the walkway was huge pit leading straight down to the Lifestream in the planet?
    "Let's get this over with." Barret grumble as he gazes at his surroundings. "You set the bomb and don't try anything fishy." Barret said as he hands the bomb to SOLDIER. SOLDIER briskly walks to the core and set the bomb on it. However just as he stood up the loud screech of the alarm fill the air as a huge robotic monstrosity came crashing down from above.
    "A Guardian Scorpion!" SOLDIER yell as he leaps back trying to avoid the bullets that scream past him. Quickly pulling out his sword, SOLDIER leaps at the robot and dismembers one of the robot's gattling guns. The Robot quickly tun it s head attempting to lock on to SOLDIER when it was sent crashing into the core by a concessive fire from Barret. Heavily damage the robot wobbly stood up as it raise it tail upward. With an inhuman screech the tail flash as it release a shower of laser beams at the two opponents and a cloud of debris fill the air. Now with its energy expend the robot wobbly stumble backward before it slip off the walkway and went plummeting to the Lifestream below.
    "Damn that was annoying." Barret mutter as he step out of the cloud coughing. The SOLDIER too came stumbling out the cloud a few burn marks scar his armor from the battle. With a slight grunt SOLDIER pull off his helmet revealing his yellow spike hair and hurl the helmet off the walkway in disgust.
    "Let's get going," Cloud said as he put his sword back, "the timer is already set and arm." Barret gape as he and the SOLDIER immediately dash for the elevator as the timer slowly ticks away. The elevator quickly rose as the three star impatiently at level counter above the doorway.
    "What's your name anyway, spike head." Barret ask still surprise to see the SOLDIER face for once.
    "Cloud Strife." Cloud answer back as he continues to watch the elevator. As the door open the three dash out meeting up with Biggs as they made their way to the exit.


    A few minutes later the sky of Midgar light up as REACTOR 1 explodes in a huge explosion sending debris flying everywhere. Quickly all the power in District 1 shut down plunging the district into darkness. Minor explosion soon rock the rest of Midgar as the power backlashes overwhelms several pipelines creating general havoc across Midgar.
    Watching all this from his office window on the top Shinra HQ, President Shinra frown as he star down at the chaos that was rocking Midgar. He knew who was responsible for this and he knew what must come about from this. Picking up his phone he call Heidegger.
    "Send every MP station in District 1 to the reactor site, I want the Avalanche dead or alive." He orders as he switches off the phone and sat down in his chair. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eye as he leans back on the chair.
    "Anything wrong, father?" a voice asks as a guy in a white trench coat walk up to the desk follow by a large Black Panther.
    "No, Rufus." President Shinra replies as he sat back up and faces his son. "It seem my age is getting to me," he sigh, "now let me be, I have a guest coming." Rufus nod and bow before he left the office, closing the door. Looking toward the shadows, he mutters, "He's gone, Vincent."
    Slowly materializing from the shadows of the wall, a figure wearing a black overcoat and sunglasses spoke, "He's still alive and he's with J-E-N-O-V-A also."
    "I'm getting to old for this." Shinra mutter as he let out another sigh. "Old friend, You know he'll be coming for me, but I have no wanting to avoid the inevitable." Shinra said shaking his head back and forth in sadness.
    "I'll ensure your family safety, when he does come." Vincent answers as his sunglasses starting to show two red glows behind them.
    "Thanks." Shinra reply as he stares back out the window to the damage District 1.

    Cloud Strife curses himself as he dashes behind another corner as a hail of bullets scream by follow by heavy footstep. This never would have happen if you didn't spend time to help that flower girl he thought as he start to run again as the sounds got closer. Cloud clutch the flower he bought from the girl protectively as he made his way up a bridge that went over the train track. A bullet slam several inches in front of him sending him into a reeling stop halfway across the bridge. Before him stood several MPs looking behind him he saw several more cutting off from behind. Stepping back to the edge of the bridge, Cloud Strife look behind at the train track behind him. As the MPs slowly close a familiar noise of the train roar out from underneath them. Suddenly coming up with a witty escape plan, Cloud stood his ground as the MPs approach him. Then suddenly the MPs back off as a figure came walking up in front of Cloud from behind the some of the MPs.
     "A Turk." Cloud growl as edge for his sword, recognizing the figure outfit. "Why don't you show your face?" Cloud asks, as the figure face remains obscure by shadows.
     "Okay…" the figure reply as he steps into the light revealing his face. Cloud gasp in shock before he pulls out his blade in anger. "Wrong move." the figure reply as he pulls out a gun. Cloud had barely taken a step before he found himself flying backward off the bridge.  His mouth was in open wide with shock as blood spurt out from the three bullet holes in his chest. Everything went black as he lands with a thud on the passing train.
     The Turk and MPs stare as the guy disappear from on top the train as it roar down a tunnel to the lower city, turning to the shock MPs the Turk order, "Go look for any other Avalanche member before they leave the district." The MPs nod as they quickly scatter in search for any other Avalanche members. The Turk sigh as he place his gun back into its holster as he turn to face Reno carrying a weird long object cover with cloth slung across his back.
     "Didn't expect this to happen on our return to Midgar, eh Cloud?" Reno smirks at his friend.  Cloud shrug as his Mako color eye let out a soft glow as the two walk off into the night.

     Meanwhile in an area forge of pure darkness far from the eyes of most mortals, Sephiroth stood there holding out a small black sphere floating in his hand. The only illumination from this area came from the sphere that Sephiroth held. Closing his eye, Sephiroth concentrate on the Black Materia as he sought the power of Meteor sealed within its core. As his mind dwelt farther into the murky surface of the Black Materia he was confronted with images of destruction and chaos. Shrugging them aside, he continues onward as he saw his goal before him. However as he reach for it, a strange seal appears before him. Sephiroth scream in agony as his head reel back from the force and as energy blaze from his eyes as they open coursing through his body. He stumble back a little as the energy slowly fade looking up he saw the Black Materia floating where he had left it.
     Cursing he mutter, "Damn those Cetra, their seal is too powerful for even me to shatter." Turning from the materia in disgust he growl, "But I will not let that stop my revenge against those the stand against me."  As he walks off into the darkness, another figure slowly came out of the shadows and stood before the Black Materia. Jenova stared at its key to revenge; Sephiroth is becoming hard to control she thought. I will dispose of him when he has serve his usefulness Jenova promised as she faded away.
