Fantasy Exodus
Chapter 1 "A Hero Awakens"

It was an ordinary day in Barivn a simple town set
up in on the coastline of the eastern continent just a few miles north
of Midgar. Mostly out of makeshift huts there were a few actual permanent
building. The residents lived mostly by fishing and searching the beaches
for stuff they could sell for money. Of course there were those few brash
kids in the town who had hope that they could some do go to Midgar and
become rich and powerful, but at most the few that did go ended up joining
the military.
On this particular day the town was upset from their daily boring routine
as they suddenly found themselves assault by a hideous sea serpent and
an army of crabs. The few warriors in the town found themselves totally
unmatch for the power of the serpent as it summon huge waves upon the town
demolishing most of the huts. The Serpent roar it head back in a
triumph roared as it open its mouth to prepare another barrage of waves
upon the town. Then in a flash of light the Serpent's decapitated head
came crashing to the ground so follow by its body. The villagers and the
monster stood in shook as a yellow spiked hair warrior land down on top
of the corpse of the serpent bearing a bloodied katana in his hand. He
bears gloves that were from the Shinra's SOLDIER Corps. with several materias
in the slots, the rest of his clothing was obscure by the brown ragged
cloak he wore over him, except the sheath he had on his back. The crabs
quickly recover from their shock as the charge at the lone warrior in earnest.
The
warrior sheath his sword and raise his right hand into the air as he started
to chant with green waves of mako starting to surround him.
Lady Shiva I bid
thy favor,
Grant upon me the
ice of the Artics,
Contain those who
I stand against, I
n a prison of Living
Ice, FREEZE!"
Pointing
his hand forward, a huge column of ice erupts around the crabs freezing
them within itself before both the crab and ice vanishes into nothingness.
The villager stood in awe at the power of the warrior when a voice broke
through the silence.
"Sugoi, Onii-san (Older Brother)!" a young kid dress in a loose sweater
and trouser cry as the kid ran up and hug Cloud who was in the process
of examining the corpse of the Serpent.
"Kit what are you doing here and how many times have I told you not to
call me that?" Cloud spat as he tries to pry Kit off. "I'm not your older
brother okay?" he said as he finally pull Kit off.
Kit just giggle and reply, "But you're like one to me and besides I want
to help you in any way I can." Cloud sweat drop as he quietly turned
away only to run face first in a crowd of eager people. Who quickly mob
him with question as they inquire everything about him.
Meanwhile watching the developing scene with amusement, Sephiroth brush
a few loose hair backs, "Seems you haven't slack off a bit since all those
years ago." Sephiroth chuckle a little before he teleported away in a flash.
Later after Cloud had managed to fend off the rabid crowd with a ten-foot
pole literally. He sat in a bar one of the few structures left standing
after the attack, occasionally taking a sip from his drink as he ponder
something. Kit was off trying to help the villager like Cloud had said.
His thoughts were interrupt as he heard a familiar voice calling him.
"Yo Cloud." a spiky black hair SOLDIER said as he enters the bar and walk
up to Cloud.
Cloud smiles and said, "You took your time Zack, I've been waiting here
for at least an hour."
Zack shrug and retort, "It's not easy getting into or out of Midgar you
know. The security has been getting so tight since last year."
Cloud nod and continue, "When Rufus ousted his old man and took control
over the company." Cloud took a casual sip from his glass before asking,
"Do you have the files I requested?" Zack nod and pull out several folders
and threw them on the counter in front of Cloud.
As Cloud opens the first one and started to scan it, Zack comment, "Of
course in order to get the files, I now have three dates to go to."
"So?" Cloud respond.
"Aerith is going to kill me!" Zack cry in despair and anguish.
"So?" Cloud respond.
"I sense a lack of sympathy here." Zack mutter.
"So?" Cloud respond.
"Broken Record, we got a Broken Record," Zack cry before Cloud knocks him
out with a backhand punch. Cloud shrug and look at the other folders until
he reached the last one, in which Zack mutter from the floor, "I found
that one during my search, you'll find it quite _interesting_ to say the
least."
Cloud's eyes open wide with shock as he read out the title on the folder,
"The Jenova Project?" Quickly brisking through the content he mutters,
"So Rufus is really planning to restart that damn project again?"
Zack nod as he got out and hand Cloud a picture before saying, "They'll
be looking for you." "You and Sephiroth are one of the few SOLDIERs who
were let in on the Project and its purpose. Rufus hates loose ends." Zack
continue gravely.
"You better get back to Midgar, Zack before someone recognize you." Cloud
said as he got up and tosses a few gils on the counter.
"I'll be fine and besides,
they won't dare kill me even without my SOLDIER gear I can still wipe a
contingent of their best MPs." Zack nod as Cloud briskly walkout of the
bar, meeting him with Kit and two brown chocobos. "Well let's go Kit."
Cloud order as they mount the chocobo rode off into the desert.
Zack mutters silently as
he watch them go off into the dessert, "Good luck."
"Greeting,
Reno and Rude," Rufus replies calmly to the two Turks, "please sit down."
As the Two Turks sat themselves down Rufus continue, "I believe you have
already been brief on your assignment?"
"Yes, President Rufus, we
are to track down and capture the ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife." Reno replies
flatly as he pushes his sunglasses up a little. Rude just nod approvingly
and remain a silent vigilance.
"Excellent, despite the fact
that Cloud Strife no longer has any of his SOLDIER equipment and weapons,
he still has his training and could still prove quite a match even for
the two of you." Rufus comment. "So I expect you to engage him with caution,
that is all." Rufus said, turning his chair around as the two Turks bow
and left. Making sure that no one was still there Rufus ask, "What do you
make of this Gogo?" On cue a strangely dress figure emerge from the wall
bearing numerous cloaks, scarfs, and a horn helmet that conceal all even
the eyes.
"Cloud may prove a challenge
to the Turks, I doubt they'll be able to defeat him." Gogo answers in a
flat monotone voice that echoes a little. Continuing it said, "I've still
have been unable to even discern Sephiroth whereabouts, he mask from all
forms of divination we have." Rufus nod and motion to continue. "I suspect
Sephiroth is up to something, which may involve the specimen J-E-N-O-V-A
in it."
"I see," Rufus said pondering
the situation, "have General Leo and a group of SOLDIER 1st Class go look
for Sephiroth. We can't just be scared away by a simple matter such as
that." Gogo nod and quietly vanish into the wall.
As all, but his head had vanish
Gogo mutter, "Mayor Domino has been becoming rather unpleasent these past
month, it is best we do something about him." Rufus only smirk as Gogo
vanishes away as he stared out of his office window at the city below him.
Zack walked through listlessly
as clutching to his arm affectionately was the President's secretary, Terra
Branford. At least there is no one who knows me here he sighs to himself
as they walk through the crowd. I'm going to get Cloud for this he promise
himself as he clutch his hand into a fist.
"Is something wrong Zack?"
Terra ask noticing Zack fist.
Letting out a sweat drop,
Zack put up a smile and said, "Oh nothing..." Trying to change the subject
Zack point, "Look at that cute cat statue." Terra stare puzzle at where
Zack point, while Zack let out a sigh of relief as the two continue on.
"Why don't we go to this restaurant?" Zack asked as they pass by one. "I
hope its not..." Zack voice trail off as he saw two figures in there. One
he really didn't want to be there. Without thinking he picks up Terra in
one arm and dashed out of the restaurant leaving a cloud of dust in his
wake.
"Where are we going?" Terra
cry as they disappear into the distance.
"Away from there." he answer
continuing to run.
Back at the restaurant Tseng
look blankly at the smoke cloud as he ask, "What do you suppose that was,
Aerith?"
Finishing her ramen Aerith
reply, "No clue."
Well this ends the first segment
of the FFEx series, a fusion of the cast from FF7 and FF6 in a prolong
story that only this crazy writer could think up. Only a few FF6 character
will play major part in this story how ever. The next part will be up in
a few days or so. Please send me any C&C or just flame for not continuing
the other stories I've done. And now for no reason what's so ever a fight
scene between this story General Leo and Sephiroth.
The two warriors stood before
each other, each glaring at the other as the wind sweeps the dust around
them into the air. Impairing their vision as they silently measure each
other in the silence that prevails. Only the sound of the wind breaks through
the silence. Each stood before the other impassive, unflinching. Sweat
slowly course down their forehead as the sun beat down upon the two as
they stood. Day soon became night as rain slowly clouded the star sky as
they continue their mental battle. The slow crack of lightning temporarily
illuminated the figures as the low roll of thunder echo through the sky.
Then, the two figure both
drew their weapon of choice and lunge at each other. Sparks flare as the
two blades made contact and as the two warriors stared into each other
face for a moment before leaping backward. Their boots splashed through
the muddy ground as they ran parallel to each other always keeping the
other in sight. The two leaped at each other sword flashing as sparks issue
from each of their blades. Each used every trick and style they knew, but
neither could break the other defense.
One of the warriors leaped
back as he raised his crystal sword high in the air as the lightning flashed
behind him and roared, "Shock!" A huge cone of energy engulfs him and his
opponent creating a massive crater where they stood. As the energy died
down steam still came from the ground as the two warriors scarred all around
stood before each other again. Each has wounds equal to those they had
dealt on the other.
As the lightning flashed again
the two stared into each other eyes. One that of the cold war torn eyes
of soldier the other the glowing essence of science and magic brought together
forged from the piece of an alien. No regret, no fear, the two lunge at
each other blade flashing as they made contact. As they pass each standing
back to back. Slamming into the ground in the distance a crystal sword
imbedded itself into the ground. Leo said not a word as he collapse to
the ground, blood seeped out all around him, raining pouring down on his
listless eyes.
Sephiroth stared down at his
fallen foe as he clutches his wound tightly. Turning he limped away several
feet as his vision slowly turn red. Falling to his knee, he releases his
sword as he went crashing to the ground, as he let out his breath. The
rain drizzle down on the two fallen warriors as the water around slowly
turned red with blood.
