"I'm not going to let you do it, brother!" Cloud
growled as his sword clanged as it met Vincent's sword; the two warriors
gazed at each other for a moment before leaping back. "You go to beat first."
he promised as he took fighting stance.
"You can't stop me," Vincent replied calmly as he
parried Cloud's attack, "you know there's nothing you can do stop me."
"And on a side note, your form is weak." he stated as he kicked Cloud in
the knee.
Cloud let out a muffled curse as he proceeded with
his attack as Vincent calmly blocked every one. Watching from the sideline,
Zack and Sephiroth watched as the two fought it out. Sephiroth had sent
the soldiers to get them a place to stay at the inn and to find a guide.
Most of the residents of the town were still hiding in their houses afraid
to come out. So far Sephiroth had clocked the current fight to be over
an hour so far. Guess we go to the Reactor tomorrow he mused as he watched
the two fight.
"So why are they fighting again?" Zack asked as
he watched the blades flash as they meet. "That's going to sting," he added
as Vincent kicked Cloud in the stomach, "more pain coming up."
"Some tradition that they do a lot when they were
young." Sephiroth answered as he winced at the next attack. "Now that's
going to be acting up for awhile." he remarked as Cloud slammed the flat
side of his blade against Vincent's head.
"Cloud hates it that much?" Zack questioned as he
watched Vincent fall due to the blow. "And that is going to sting." he
stated as Vincent kick Cloud in between the legs on the ground. Panting
at his headache, Vincent picked up the stunned Cloud and proceeded to toss
him into the town well.
"The dunking of the well." Sephiroth remarked as
Zack looked strangely at the whole thing. "Well Zack, let's go see the
Mayor, while those two cool off." he smirk as he walked off.
"This is an outrage!" Samuel growled slamming his
fist down on the table; Zack winced at the crack the table gave from the
hit. "I won't do it," he said as he fold his arm and glare back a the two
SOLDIERs sitting across the couch, "I refuse to even think about it."
"Oh come on, I need you to sign the form that states
that Nibelhiem is my place of birth." Sephiroth retorted back as he held
out the papers. "Beside I was born here so there's nothing you can do about
It." he added with a sneer.
"Grrrrr." Samuel growled as he took a pen and signed
the papers.
"Well thanks for your cooperation Mayor and we'll
be checking out the Reactor tomorrow." Sephiroth bowed as he took the papers
and left.
"We already killed the monster." Zack said
as he followed Sephiroth. Growling as they left, Samuel snapped the pen
in his hand and tossed it to the ground cursing.
"I don't think he likes you." Zack chuckled as they
left the Mayor's houses.
"The feelings mutual I guess," Sephiroth responded
as he noticed Vincent and Cloud in the distance by the well, "well we better
get ourselves a guide or we won't be marching up no mountain range." "Who's
that girl by Cloud?" he asked noticing a raven-haired girl hugging Cloud.
"Don't know." Zack stated unsure as he shrugged.
"Well looks like the two of you finally came back."
Vincent said as he saw the two approaching. "So how was your talk with
the Mayor?" he asked as the two quickly broke into a chuckle. "What?" he
inquired only causing them to break up even more. "This is Tifa." Vincent
added pointing toward the girl hugging Cloud.
"Hello." Tifa bowed as she dropped Cloud to
the ground. "You must be Sephiroth and Zack," she said as she shook their
hand, "Cloud and Vincent talked a lot about you two." "Right Cloud?" she
asked to the crumpled form of Cloud on the ground, who only managed to
let a disgruntle grunt.
Smiling at Cloud predicament, Sephiroth asked, "So
Tifa do you know of any guides for the mountain passes?" Looking at the
empty square as a sagebrush rolled by, he muttered, "I find it hard trying
to converse with anyone in this town."
"That's easy, I'll be your guide." Tifa
replied as Cloud's mouth dropped to the ground. "I've been hiking through
them a lot when I was young, so I know the way." she continued as Sephiroth
thought about it.
"Okay," Sephiroth answered, "you can be our guide,
we are heading for the Reactor early next morning so be there."
"What?" Cloud cried as he seized Sephiroth by the
collar. "Are you insane taking her along?" he muttered toward Sephiroth.
"Remember, what could be in there?" he growled as Sephiroth pulled him
and chuckled.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine." Sephiroth assured
as Tifa leapt up in joy. "Hey, where are you going Vincent?" he asked Vincent
noticing his departure from the group.
"Just going to see my mom." Vincent replied as he
walked off toward his home
"Hey wait for me" Cloud stammered as he chased after
his brother with Tifa following the two.
Watching the two depart, Zack remarked, "Look like
we're the only one with nothing to do." Sighing to himself as he placed
his arms behind his head, he asked, "Sephiroth you’re a popular figure,
do you have any girlfriends?"
Taking a moment to digest a proper answer, Sephiroth murmured lightly,
"No…"
"What?" Zack asked straining to hear what Sephiroth
had said. "Speak up I can't hear you." he insisted as he nudge Sephiroth
in his shoulder.
"I said "No, I don't have any girlfriends." you
idiot!" Sephiroth yelled back sending Zack flying back and caused a few
curious villagers to stick their heads out to see what the commotion was.
Sighing sadly at the scene he just did, Sephiroth sneered madly, "Well
do you?"
"Yup," Zack replied cheerfully as he got up, "met
her in Midgar too." Pulling out a picture that he handed to Sephiroth,
he mused, "She is such an angel and a true wonder with plants to boot."
His eye filling with stars as Sephiroth slowly inched away, Zack sighed,
"I hope one day, to take her and her mother away from that terrible city
to the great country side."
"That's nice." Sephiroth stammered, lost words in
Zack's dreams. Scratching the back of his head he asked, "Well what is
her name?"
"Oh it is…." he was saying till a voice cut him
off.
"Hey you two," Cloud interrupted as he came running
up to them, "my mom wants to see you." "Come on let's go." he said as he
dragged them to his house.
As night slowly fell on the Shinra airport of Junon,
the only light visible shined from the security guard office. Vick blew
the steam off the top of his coffee as he leaned back in his chair. Laying
his feet on his desk, he leaned his head back to watch the spinning fan
on the ceiling turn. Nothing good ever happens here, he thought as let
out a small sighed. Taking a sip from his coffee, he paid a casual glance
toward the wall of screens depicting areas all around the airport. About
to close his eyes for a little nap, his attention was suddenly caught by
one of the screens. Several black figures were quickly dashing into one
of the secret hangers for Shinra. Snapping forward quickly at the sight,
Vick accidentally knocked his coffee mug over causing it to spill over
his leg.
"$&*%*!" Vick screamed as he clutched his leg
in pain as hopped around on one foot. "Stupid @^&# coffee *&$^
my @$%~ leg!" he swore as he leaned against the wall and rubbed his burned
leg. Cursing about his bad luck, Vick snatched his flashlight from his
desk and proceeded to limp outside. "Hello?" he asked as he flicked the
light on and scanned the area carefully. Carefully walking to the hanger,
which he saw the figures he carefully his light back and forth as he ordered,
"Whoever you are, you're trespassing on Shinra property." "That's a felony."
he added hoping he could scare the people into coming out.
As he entered the center of the hanger suddenly
numerous spotlights turned on around him all pointing at him. Let out a
gasp as he dropped his flashlight as he raised his arms to shield his eyes
from the brightness. Squinting at the brightness, he could manage to make
out several figures surrounding him all around as he tried to make out
who they were. The audible sound of guns clicking sent out a shiver in
him, as he noticed one long hair figure standing out among the other.
"Who are you?" Vick asked as the figure stood before
him just standing there.
"Kill him." the figure replied as the others around
him could be heard raising their guns.
"Wait no…" he begged before his plead was silenced
as the guns fired at him. The figure watched silently as Vick slowly crumpled
to the ground form the wounds. A slow puddle of blood slowly started to
spread across the floor as the figure kneeled down to check Vick's pulse.
Finding none the figure smirk as he stood back up as he tuned back to the
others.
"Turn off the lights and load the rest of the stuff
onto the plain." the figure ordered as darkness quickly filled the room
again. "And have some clean up this body." he added as he slowly walked
out into the open runway outside. Gazing up ahead he could see the moon
slowly linger over the ocean casting its glowing reflection down onto the
sea. Smirking to himself, the figure withdrew a phone from his coat and
replied, "Everything is going according to plan, Hojo."
"Excellent," Hojo chuckled across the other line,
"did you have any problems?"
"Only a small one, but we took care of it without
any incidents." the figure sneered as he slowly walked down the way. "We'll
be able to lift off in a matter of minutes, but it'll still take us sometime
to get to Nibelhiem." he commented as a growl could be heard from across
the line.
"It matters little, but I want to make sure you
retrieve the specimen." Hojo ordered as he gritted his teeth. "It plays
a crucial form of our new plans so don't lose it," he added as the figure
chuckled at the threat, "everything will be for nothing if you fail." "Don't
get to overconfident, you'll be going against two of the best Shinra SOLDIER,
a 1st Class, and a 2nd so don't get cocky." Hojo spat as he hanged up.
Smirking at Hojo angered, the figure proceeded to the plane as it slowly
rolled out of the Hanger.
Slowly drifting in the Lifestream the planet slowly
tilted her head as she sensed what was going on in the world above. Thoughts
darted her mind as she tried to decipher what was going on and what was
being planned. A slow chuckling broke her concentration as she looked around
the Lifestream for the source of the source of the voice.
Frowning she muttered, "It's you Jenova." Slowly
a purple misty cloud appeared before out of the Lifestream, within the
mist glow two eyes. "So what are you doing here?" she asked looking at
her enemy in the face.
"You are so naïve of my nature, planet." Jenova
voice echoed through the Lifestream. "My agents are already preparing for
your downfall." she laughed as the planet merely frowned back. "Don't think
by winning Sephiroth away from me will stop my plans." Jenova sneered as
it slowly started to fade. "My new Messiah will take Sephiroth's place
nicely." it chuckled as it dissolved away leaving the planet alone.
"What will happen now?" the planet murmured through
the Lifestream. But the spirit around merely floated by leaving her thinking.
