Description: Skraak are a species of reptilian descent and average a height of 2.0 metras and typically have a bulky build. Skin coloration is a light grey. Eye coloration includes red, yellow, and orange. Physical maturity is reached at eight cycles. Average lifespan is eighty-five cycles. Preferred gravity is 1.3 G. The head is roughly dome shaped and has no discernable neck.
Easily Set Off: Skraak body chemistry is highly unstable compared to other races and can make them quite unpredictable. The Berserk Edge is received for free.
Full of Energy: Skraak are seemingly capable of constant physical exertion without tiring, which translates into a starting Vigor of d6 instead of d4.
Going Crazy Early: Cyberware sets off the chemicals balances of a Skraak even worse than other races. While they can take as much Cyberload as anyone else (up to their Spirit), the negative effects crop up sooner. A minor Delusional Hindrance occurs at one-quarter Spirit and gets upgraded to major at one-half.
Scaly Hide: The scales on their skin are difficult to penetrate and provide two points of Armor.
Short Attention Span: Their wacky body chemistry makes it difficult for a Skraak to concentrate on purely cerebral tasks, resulting in a -2 on all Smarts based skills except for Gunnery.
Comments: The Skraak are an example of a race that was taken to the stars rather than making it on their own, though no race will admit to having done so. Unlike the other Independent Races, the Skraak do not have a nation that represents the race as a whole. At most, a community of Skraak can be only as big as what a single leader can control.
