In Comparison:

  • Archons crush zerglings- although zealots do just fine
  • One archon will take out 3 (sometimes 4) mutalisks.
  • They take out ultralisks one-on-one.
  • Effective Uses:

  • These guys do massive damage. But them by some shield batteries and they'll take out entire armies.
  • They're a great weapon in the fight against mutas.
  • A great psycological weapon. Archons bring fear into opponetts.
  • Dying templar who've used their energy? Merge 'em! The archon even adds their kill totals...
  • Lovely compliment to reavers for quick expansion crushing.  Especially on island maps.
  • Good when used with...

  • Anything ranged. Archons are almost a hand-to-hand fighting unit. They one-man-armies, but they should have some ranged support (dragoons, reavers).
  • Raw psionic energy- deadly. Use them wisely- would templar be better in some cases?
