In Comparison:
Reavers have an amazingly powerful
attack with a large area of effect.
One reaver can take out an entire
army of terran infantry when used correctly.
Although they do more damage,
they don't have the range of siege tanks.
Effective Uses:
Amazing ground defense. One
correctly placed scarab can wipe out a large part of an attacking force.
Incredible offensive weapons.
Either take out charging enemy troops or kill buildings with ease.
When dropped from a shuttle
at strategic locations (like a mineral line). Just a few scarabs will wipe
out many peon units and it'll still attack enemy troops.
Good when used with...
Dragoons. Let the reaver do
it's thing while the dragoons kill whatever is attacking the reaver.
Zealots. The zealots distract
as the reavers take out strategic buildings.
Shuttles. Shuttle-drop them
behind enemy lines. Ouch.
Arbiters. Recall a few behind
enemy lines and attack on two flanks at once!
Reavers are slow and expensive,
but very cost efficient when used appropriately.
