Eric and Kevin's Rocky Mountain Adventure

Final Thoughts

It’s been an entire week since I returned (today is July 3), and I’ve had the time to look over all that I wrote (and type it up too…I’m gonna get carpal tunnel or something). Too bad I’ve been too busy with SRP and stressing about Chinese Club and all the other work I have to really think about the trip.

Well, I got home last Wednesday at around 7am (flight landed at 5:15am), and I basically went to sleep. I wanted to wake up around 10, 11, 12-ish, but instead I woke up at 1:30 when my mom called…hahaha. Yes, ummm…tired much?

One thing I forgot to mention about the plane ride was that my mom accidentally had a corkscrew in her purse because she was carrying it for Ian’s aunt, but forgot about it. The really bad thing was that the security people did not catch it…that’s not good…They did catch the corkscrews in the suitcase of Uncle Hsu, though…strange.

Anyways, it was a really great trip. I admit that I did not want to go in the beginning. I mean, I was irate that my mom just signed me up without asking. I mean, at that point I was worried about my senior research project, I wanted to attend the WSCLC volleyball camp, but also didn’t want to because I was worrying about my SRP…aiye. Well, turns out taking a week off for my SRP was fine in terms of time, and I still got to visit the camp (even though I really would have wanted to attend as a camper).

On the general sense, I saw mountains and water for the third year straight. But, I mean every place was just a little different. This wasn’t a boring trip. I saw magnificent landscapes, had fun while doing it (snowball fights, canoeing, sleeping…hehehe), and enjoyed another country.

The main reason my parents wanted me to go was so I could spend time with them and more importantly with my grandmother. Even though the trip lasted a week, I still don’t think I spent all that much time with her…which is really too bad. I hope she had fun though. Moving away from being all emotional and teary, I saw a lot on this trip: snow in June, grizzly bear, black bear, elk, glacier water (which I drank)…and I realized that there are way too many Asian people touring the Canadian Rockies…and just that makes it all worthwhile…=P.
