hese incorporeal beings are the natural inhabitants of a formless world of elemental air. At times, they are summoned to the material world at the behest of mighty sorcerers. It is within their power to rend and buffet material creatures with the winds they call and command. Left to their own devices, they tend to seek refuge among the tallest mountains.

no man has ever beheld a living corpser in its entirety, for these fierce beasts dwell within the earth, moving through soil as easily as a fish through water or a bird through air. A corpser is a ravenous hunter which, when it perceives the steps of a large creature on the surface above, will thrust mighty tentacles up through the crust to sieze its prey, rend it apart and drag the pieces below to feed. Weapons do but little harm to corpsers, but they can be slain by fire.

o purer manifestation of primal evil exists than the hideous daemon, a denizen of the dark and infernal planes brought to these shores by the most vile wizardries. Only the greatest of heroes have ever vanquished a daemon in single combat, and even a group of valiant warriors must be puissant indeed to survive an encounter with such a fiend.  

Daemons are rapacious, and find man-flesh as good as any other meat. They also have a great love for gold, and will hoard it when they can. When not about their business of bloody deeds and diabolic mischief, they prefer to sojourn in caverns below the ground, and are especially thick in the deepest recesses of the legendary dungeons. A daemon's bones are greatly prized as magical talismans of rare potency.

ark and ancient dungeons are home to these wraiths, believed to be the spirits of those who built the labyrinths in bygone aeons. They seem to crave the fleshy pleasures which they are now forever denied, for they will attack the living (rending their victims with translucent and intangible claws that nonetheless do real damage) for their gold and meat. Though ghouls devour meat, I do not think they derive either pleasure or nourishment from the act.
