Welcome to the first installment of Edo's Deck Lab. This area is meant to help people with the decks that they have constructed to make them even better. For this week, we will be a looking at a Red Eyes Black Dragon deck that was submitted to me.
Try an keep in mind I am still a little new at the game, and this is just a deck I came up with using your card translations (Still waiting for it to come out in stores here). Your pages keeps over excedding it's limit, so I havent seen your deck construction section, but here's what I got for a deck idea:
Red Eyes Black Dragon Red Eyes Black Dragon Red Eyes Black Dragon Eye King Of The Depths Eye King Of The Depths Eye King Of The Depths Jar Of Greed Cry Of The Living Dead Change Of Heart Apprentice Witch Apprentice Witch Apprentice Witch Mysterious Puppeteer Mysterious Puppeteer Mysterious Puppeteer Demon Summon Demon Summon Demon Summon Gift For The Dead Gift For The Dead Gift For The Dead Magic Removal Magic Removal Magic Removal Fake Trap Fake Trap Fake Trap Darkness Darkness Lightning Rod Call From Darkness Fusion Fusion Fusion Dragon Sealing Jar Thieving Goblin Thieving Goblin Thieving Goblin Dark Armor Zombie Dark Armor Zombie Their are 2 [Black Demon's Dragons] in the fusion deck.
Anyway, the idea is to use the Eye Kings to stack up the cards you need.
Usually looking for eather the Demon Summon, Red-eyes, or a Fusion Card.
I added a Jar of Greed to give card advantage, and Thieving Goblin just
keep the threats down to a minimal.

Well, since this is a beginner's deck, there are a lot of things that need to be corrected. This means that it will probably need to be remade from the ground up. Some of the cards aren't widly used. We'll try to keep the basics.
There is a lack of a lot of the tournament "staple" cards to make this deck competitive in the current area of deck-building. You should always put the following cards in the deck:
Since we have the basic deck concept, a Red Eyes Deck, we need to base it around Red Eyes itself. So, what we need will be three Red Eyes.
The problem with Red Eyes is that it is fairly weak compared to other Monsters of its level. It requires two Monsters to sacrifice in order to get it out onto the Field. Whereas something like Demon Summon has a HIGHER attack strength, and needs only one Monster to be sacrificed. To fully get around this, we will try to dump them into the Cemetery, and then use a variety of revival cards to get it into play. To spice things up a little, we will add a Metal Conversion and a Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon. Even though you will have to sacrifice Red Eyes to play REBMD, that works to your advantage; you can then revive the sacrificed REBD for another power hitter!
But you can't run a deck based on just that strategy. You need some low-level hitters, just in case that you don't have the cards that you need to summon it from the Cemetery. I suggest two Blood Vors. For your mid-level hitters, I would use one Psycho Shocker (another deck staple) and two Demon Summon. To help get out the Blood Vorses and Demon Summons, add two Black Forest Witches.
To get back your necessary Magic cards, add two Saint Magicians. They will get back things such as Raise Dead to help the deck get going. To further speed things, we're going to add a Cyber Pod.
You have Magic Removals in the deck. These cards became obsolete when Magic Ruler came out, as the Cyclone card packs both a Magic Removal and Trap Remover into one card. We'll put two of those in.
Barely anyone uses the Fake Trap card; it'd be only useful if you were playing a Trap deck. We'll remove those, and instead, we'll add two "counter" cards: Imperial Decree, and a Magic Jammer.
To help get Red Eyes into the Cemetery and destroy an opponent's Monster at the same time, we'll put in two Welcome For The Deads.
Fusion isn't the best road for a lot of decks; the cheesy Fusion deck with the Devil Franken is how a lot of people will play Fusion. For this kind of deck, I would ditch one Black Demon's Dragon from the Fusion deck and add one Meteor Black Dragon. To get around adding a Meteor Dragon to the deck, let's add two Goddess of the Truthful Eye. This will work with an combination of Monsters that you have when you want to fuse. Let's use only one Fusion card, as it isn't a basis to the deck; it only supports it.
If you want a hard-hitting deck, you don't want the Darkness cards in the deck. You want something that works in a good number of situations. Since a lot of your attackers are the Darkness Main-Type, we'll replace the Darknesses with Dark Zones. Sure, it will lower their defense, but some say that the best defense is a good offense.
Well, here would be our final forty-two card sample deck then:
Of course, the deck should be tested thoroughly, and suited to your playing style. But most of all, have fun with your theme decks. See how much flavor that Duel Monsters has!
If you have a deck that you would like to submit to Edo's Deck Lab, mail them on over to me so that I can have a look at it.
