Enter the Moonlight

As day broke through the blinds in my mog house I looked around at the many types of armor and weapons I had collected through out my journeys as a Ranger. Some were still shining as though they had never been worn, but most had the many scars of the heated battles that had engulfed my being for the last months. Rumors have been circling through My linkshell of a speacial armor set specific to the job you currently hold. Artifact Armor, referred to as AF Armor. Having a complete set of this armor would signify that I truly was one of the elite rangers of Vana’diel. Not just anyone could get it though. The quests to obtain them were grueling and often required the assistance of more than one other person. After Speaking woth Regimas, our linkshell’s founding member, and Andromedia, a fellow ranger, we hammered out a plan of attack for obtaining the first piece of ranger Artifact armor. Regimas was waiting in Sand’oria already running errands of his own but we would need his help to defeat the fiend nessecary to obtain the bow. I jumped on the airship and headed for The Kingdom of Windhurst to meet with the wise old Mithra that originally introduced me to the job of ranger. My first stop was Jeuno, the hub of all major cities, then I transferred to another flight headed to Windhurst from there. Andro and Regimas went ahead and set out through East Ronfaure to the obscure caves we were going to have to traverse while they waited for me to arrive. In Windhurst, the Old mithra gave me a few clues about a guard that I needed to speak to in the caves for information. I now had the quest and ran back to the port to head back to Sand’oria. In the cave I quickly caught up with Regimas and Andro slayying fiends and searching the corpses for valuable drops. When I arrived we spoke with the Guard at the gate and he told us the story of a particuarly nasty fiend that he had encountered and a mithra who had come looking for information on it. he instructed us to the item the beast dropped after being slain and said to find out more we would need to get some ourselves. Fighting our way to the very back of the cave we finally spied the fiends in question. There was only one problem… instead of one there were three! Andro and I, as sharp as we were, would have our hands full attacking one of these monsters. To take three was out of the question. Before we could plan an attack I caught a glimpse of Regimas’s shining white armor fly by as he attacked the first fiend head on. Not to be out done I quickly used my “Shadowbind” skill on on of the others to hold it in its place and began to assault it with the most powerful ranged attacks I could. Up close this beast would tear me appart, but from distance it was no match for my bow. We worked together and felled the three and got the glittering sand item they dropped. We rested a while and waited for more of them to return. Unfortunately we had to attack these fiendsd twice… once for me and once for Andro. Once again we destroyed the monsters and once again we obtained the glittering sand. We made our way back to Sand’oria, and after thanking Regimas Andro and I set out on Chocobos to jugnar forest to find the lost mithra. Stopping by the lake we were told by a local to search the area where the river met the lake during a full moon. As we made our way to the spot, we realized the full moon had just past the night before. It would be a days before the waxing full moon would return. Not wanting to camp out we decided to return home and return another day.
