Ahhh!!!

This book is trying to teach me about this "Var" "KBD" "CODE" and a few other tags cept I have no idea what the heck they're talking about. Anybody help here? Please? What are they used for? Worth my time and worry?

Acronyms etc..

Swanky

More stuff...I don't think my browser likes acronyms..you're either...

Talkin' with Lictalon

Lictalon, fellow webmaster sent me a mail this way after seeing my attempts to learn HTML over here, here's what it had to say: Okay, Rhelman, 2 things you should know. 1) you can learn HTML easily at http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html . Very easy and kewl. That's where I learned. 2) CGI is far, far more complicated then HTML. I went to a place called learn CGI in a half hour or something like that, and couldn't make the slightest bit of sense out of it. Not to mention that for CGI, you need a cgi-bin, which Geocities does not let you have.

-Lictalon

So then I figure I'll check this Davesite out, it is actually really cool. Right now I'm sticking by the book, and using Dave's really short lessons for review. Works out nicely because the book explains things, Dave shows things. Then I mailed back Lictalon and thanked him and he wrote this back.

Your welcome. I've used wysiwyg editors before, and I much prefer "getting my hands dirty"; that is, writing the code myself. More freedom, IMHO. It's your call.

-Lictalon

Agreed ;) Gotta love the feel of the HTML power at your finger tips =)

What get's me about HTML

Ok, I'm soft, I grew around a good home and stuff. But you know what, I'm getting sick of typing the same tags over and over again. I guess that's the love that using Notepad brings. I'm sure I'll find an easier, yet non-wysiwyg way of doing this yet :)

Emphasis tags

italics bold Eh, that's basically all you need to know..

The Horrible Horizontal Rules

Just trying out Horizontal rules here

Playing within the Right Alignment..

Just trying to figure out these alignment tags ;)

Fixes:

Well, wasn't that an interesting show yesturday. Man, this page looks like one of those really cheesy family pages that'd you'd see in a book about making a webpage..oh, wait..doah! ;) Well today I lowered the size of the title lettering..I hope.

The power of Caffiene!

Man, about a week and half ago I had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled and man, it hurt like hell. I really had to watch what I was eating and I also stayed away from sodas.. don't know why, but I did. Anyway, I started having headaches and one day I figured out why. I hadn't had any caffiene for like the past week. I slugged down a couple of Mountain Dews, and man, it felt good. Is their an addiction to this caffiene you might ask? I don't care :)

Mulan

I saw Mulan today, fact I just got back from it. Man, I think it's almost (not quite) as good as the Lion King but better then the Little Mermaid. Of course all the other Disney movies suck. I went with a couple friends and the theater was packed with stupid little kids. At the end of the movie some little kid asked his parents "Which one is Mulan?" hehe, gotta love the attention span of 4 year old. For those of you who don't know, Mulan is based in disney's warped view of ancient China regarding the The Great Wall and the huns. It's ok for a date movie, but nothing like the Lion King or Titanic was.

Scuse me whilst I try out Block quoting

Well I saw over at ISC that the oh so sexy and lovable head webmaster put up his opinion on the Tristine Chronicles Compilation. Here it is, straight from the high swanktitude spud himself:

I asked Maryann if she'd let me post a compilation done by Ash a long time ago of all the Tristine quotes as suggested by Mephisto. I have them, but only in print and was going to type them up again. Anyway, she shot it down because it's Palladium's policy not to let webpages print Palladium material. Now I can understand this in stats and stuff, but I think that posting the Tristine quotes would not only make the game look much cooler to the average passer-by, but also some of the books that you got those quotes from like Old Ones would look oh so much more attactive. But hell, what do I know...
-Rehlman of ISC

I must say I agree with him whole-heartedly ;)

Trying out this PRE tag

Flags fly across the bloodied battlefield
	Life - Death
Emotions run high as the two sides collide
	Fear	- Anger
The mighter will win and decide what the future will think is right
	Fact - History
However Noble the cause may be, it's greed that always wins
	Gold - Land
'Tis the story of the Mideval Man

How'd you like my made up poem? Oh yeah, I also used the "div" command to flush me name all the way right ;)

Rehlman's Learning HTML :)

Why HTML, Why now?

Well, I'm learning html from this book that's roughly 700 pages long and it's called "Using HTML 4 Edition" and it's by Lee Ann Philips. I finally decided I would do this webpage thing the right way, and dump the old wysiwyg editor becuase it just isn't powerful enough and I feel I can do better. Besides it'll help me when I'm trying to figure out mistakes and in my future career possibly.

Over the next few days I'll upload this and you can see how I'm coming along by what this page actually looks like and what neato tags I learned :) If you see any mistakes as I go along here, feel free to point them out to me. You can mail me at Wis-28@worldnet.att.net. Now, I'm not exactly doing all this typing here becuase of the fun of it, I'm just going by what the book says and it's telling me to write anything and everything here and I'll just add in the tags later. Is this the correct way of doing things? Hell, I don't know... but I guess the book does. Ok, this is enough for me for now. Let's get some of these tags going ;)

Oh yeah, also check out my other website, ISC
