Ace combat is a very fun jet fighting game from Namco. The game starts up with an awsome rendered cut scene of jets taking off and dog fighting. The game itself comes up with a debreifing of your overall mission in the game. You start off your first mission with a voice telling you about the mission and a cool moving map showing targets and terrain. The jets themselves which range from a Stealth Bomber to a F-14 Tomcat are very well rendered. You start off with two planes but after you accomplish certain missions you have the option of buying a new plane. The graphics are very nicely done. The jet's afterburners are the game's real graphic treats, they look awsome. There are many different ground textures and buildings, bridges, highways, carriers, and such. The explosions are also nice. The sound is kind of weird, the sound effects are cool, especially when bogey jets zoom by your cockpit, but the sound is weird. The sound can range from rock, to techno, to latin guitar. This game is kind of short, I beat in about four sittings using a memory card, but the thumb blistering dogfighting is awsome. This game is a good rental, the game bribes you to play it over again after you beat it with new planes. You can also sometimes choose between two missions, which means you can play a few different levels if you play again. But you'd have to be a serious flighter to play this game's missions over and over and...
