Let me start off by saying I have never, never, played a RPG (unless you count Dragon Warrior for the NES). But the awsome commercials and all of the great ratings it has been getting swayed me to rent the game at my nearest Hollywood Video. I started up the game and I watched the awsome intro cut scene. Although the menus kind of look like a 16 bit game's, when I actually started playing I saw the game's fantastic graphics. In my opinion, these are the best graphics on the PlayStation I have ever seen, possibly anywhere. Even though I am a dumb American I found that navigating the menus was quite easy, especially during fight scenes. This game is graphicaly amazing. The scenery is top notch and some of the best I have ever seen. FFVII's cinematic quality cut scenes are pure eye candy. The fight scene graphics are also very nice, but not as nice as others. What saves the fight scene's graphic quality is the spells, especially the sumon spells, they blew me away. The control is very responsive, and the sound is very well done. Overall, I think this game will change all action gamers' (like myself) attitude towards those boring old RPG games. If you haven't yet, go out and get yourself a copy of Final Fantasy VII as soon as possible, cause' it's the law or something. If you still doubt my opinion go rent it for yourself.
