Everyone knows Core Design for it's
awsome, in-depth, and mildy action game Tomb Raider, it seems that
Core has swung the complete opposite way with Fighting Force.
Fighting Force has all the potential to stand up there with the
greats, Final Fight, Streets of Rage, and Double Dragon.
Fighting
Force's graphics are not perfect, but they are detailed. The frame
rate is quite fast, but in two player mode, especially when a lot of
guys are on screen, the game tends to slow down some. In one player
mode though, the frame rate rips along.
The sound gets the job done.
The mild rock tunes in the background fits the game well, and the
thumps, cracks, and booms sound good too.
The control is really great
for a 3D game. Usually 3D games are plauged by bad control, but
Fighting Force handles like a dream. Pulling combos is really
simple, and you have freedom to roam the area you are in, but in two
player mode you are restricted by an invisible wall which keeps both
players on screen.
The game is fairly short, but there are different
paths you can take to up the replay value. The areas include a mall,
the Bronx, the park, and an office building. Overall action and
fighting nuts, like myself, are going to eat this game up. If you
are a fan of the genre this game is a must buy, but if you only want
a quick fix, rent it.
