The sequel to the innovative Jet Moto has arrived, and although it is very fun, some very important elements seem to have not evolved at all since the original. At first glance, Jet Moto 2 looks like a first generation PlayStation title, which is not a good thing, considering the graphic quality of it's competitors.

As I mentioned before, Jet Moto 2 looks like a first run PlayStation game. Even though Singletrac is known for not so great graphics, but incredible gameplay, you would think that they would have bumped the graphics up a few notches to compete with visually stunning games like Moto Racer and F1 Championship Edition. Jet Moto 2's graphics aren't completely without praise, your character is larger on screen and his bike is much more detailed with the addition of an instrument panel on the dash of the bike, and the tracks themselves do have some nice graphical touches. One cool addition to the graphics is a vapor trail when you use a turbo.

The sound gets the job done, unfortunately, it doesn't do any more than that. The music of each track has a relationship to the type of track that it is, like jungle music on the Volcano track. The rider's grunts are kind of funny when they wreck, and the turbos sound pretty cool too.

Players who had complaints about the control of the original Jet Moto are still going to be complaining, but the contrtols are actually faster and more responsive. I always kind of like the controls of the Jet Moto games, but it kind of frustrates some racers the way that your bike does not adhere to the track. One good thing about the game's control is you can perform some cool mid air stunts, because the huge and wicked air has returned.

There is not doubt that Jet Moto 2 will appeal more to the fans of the original, but the original gameplay, like a roller coaster track, will attract new PlayStation gamers as well. One part of the gameplay that is worse than the original is the jacked up computer A.I., it is really hard to place a good finish, especially in the harder skill levels. Unfortunately, if you hated the original, you are going to hate this one.
