Red Alert Strategies
Allies-
1. Cronoshifting Tanyas- Get a cronosphere out, and wait until you are able to do Cronoshift. Make an MCV, but leave him in your base, don't build a construction yard yet. Build a barracks. When the barracks is ready, don't place it anywhere, yet. Also, have a Tanya in the making.
Have you noticed how your opponent has plenty of defenses, but the rear of his base is undefended as power plants and other buildings are scattered out. If you could only get a Tanya there.
Now its time. You cronoshift the MCV in the back of the opponents base. Immediatly, build a Construction yard. After that, now place your barracks beside your new contruction yard. Tanya should now be done, and should come out of the barracks. Send her to those undefended buildings of your opponents, and laugh as his base goes down in flames. There is very good chance your Tanya will be killed, for Tesla Coils, turrets, and an army of tanks are heading your way. After you get the Tanya out, keep on making Tanyas, if money allows. Also, keep on building barracks and more barracks so the enemy can't destroy all your buildings that quickly and keep on pumping out Tanyas. I've done this successfully on several games. Its also very hard to defend against too.
2. Cronoshifting Base Takeover Strategy- This strategy is similiar to the Cronoshifting Tanya Strategy. Simply build an MCV and cronoshift it into an undefended part of the enemy's base. Immediatly deploy the MCV into a cy and keep on placing gun turrets and pill boxes throughout the enemy's base. The enemy's base will be torn from inside out! Try to combine this strat with the cronoshifting tanya one and you'll do serious damage.
3. Cronoshifting your Enemies- A cronoshift can move units other then your own! For example if you see an enemy MCV that's not deployed yet cronoshift it in your base and have your tanks blow it up. Also do this with ore trucks as well. If the enemy is sending an APC full of tanyas at you cronoshift the APC into your base. All the tanyas will be killed from the cronoshift and you'll take out the APC eliminating the threat. If you find that the enemy Soviet player is building tanyas and placing them in Chinooks, wait until the chinook is full and cronoshift the chinook where you can destroy it and thus killing all the tanyas inside. You have to be an ally to that person to do this so right before you start your cronoshifting, ally with the person.
4. The Quick Kill- This tactic can be done on practically any map in which you can get to the enemy early in the game. If you start with several units and you have an APC you can do this. While building your base scout the land with your jeep/ranger or another unit. With your base construction make sure you make the construction yard then powerplant THEN barracks before you start on the ore refinery. Quickly build five engineers. Place the five engineers in your APC and send the APC to the enemy base your scout found (make sure you go around the defenses of the enemy and get near the construction yard). Unload your APC and have all the engineers go into the enemy's construction yard. You'll capture the enemy's construction yard. You can either repair it and build off it or you could sell it (probably a wise thing to do since the player's defenses will be closing in about now). This is the quickest way to win an RA match I know of.
5. Fast Light Tanks- Making Light Tanks is a better idea then making medium tanks. Make fast quick attacks then retreat. If you encounter the enemy tank army in and open area, there is a way you can win. Have all your units selected together, and keep on pressing 'X'. Your units will keep moving around making your opponent's attack on your tanks much more difficult.
6. Base Takeover Strategy (Gun Turrets)- I've always thought Allies couldn't do the base takeover strategy (which consists of building base defenses to and throughout your enemy's base). Gun turrets could be the best base defense of all. They're more powerful then the flamers, almost as easy to build, hurt tanks well, don't die as easily as tesla coils, and they last in the heat of battle for a long time (especially if the nimble mouse clicking player repairs the gun turrets during battle). Pillboxes and Camopillboxes won't work well for the base takeover strategy since their armor and weapons are too weak.
Soviets-
1. Invulnerable Transporting Tanyas Trick- First, get an Iron Curtain charging.Create a helipad and get a Chinook Helicopter. Now make five Tanyas (if money allows). Now put the five Tanyas inside the chinook and set the copter near the enemy base. Put invulnerbility on the helicopter and send it to the back of the base, (hopefully, undefended.) Your helicopter willl get shot at but it will be invincible for a short period. Get out your Tanyas, and let them wreak havoc on your enemy's base. You may not get your Tanyas or helicopter back.
2. Base Takeover Strategy 1(Flametowers)- To do this strategy you will need a good amount of money and you need tanks to back it up. This is a really mean and evil strategy (at least that's what everyone I've used it on calls it) and WILL guarentee blowing up the other player if you do it correctly. Make sure you have a lot of cys up before you start this strategy, such as six or seven. Make a flame tower, place it, and make another, and place it. You want to place them so the flametowers will make a line to the enemy's base. Keep on making the flametowers and keep placing them. Now when you get to the ememy's defenses (tanks and stuff) you should have your tanks out there to distract the enemy's tanks so the enemy won't be destroying your flameowers. Air attacks? Don't worry about air attacks since flamethrowers are quick to make and easy to replace. While your tanks are fighting the enemy tanks you should build flametowers right into the enemy's base. Your flametowers should be attacking the enemy's tanks as you build flametowers around the enemy's buildings. Normally flametowers won't attack enemy buildings so you have to click on the flametower and tell it to fire at the buildings. Be sure to send in reinforcements for your tanks because you have to keep most of the enemy's tanks busy. Soon the enemy's base will be destroyed by your flametowers. Keep in mind that flametowers don't have to go in a straight line to the enemy's defenses. They can go over ridges and some rivers. I learned this strategy when Saber (who smurphed me by going by the name Commando .1L) blew me up with his hundreds of flametowers.
3. Base Takeover Strategy 2(Tesla Coils)- This strategy is identical to the one above but instead of flametowers you use Tesla Coils. However you will need a LOT more ore on the map for this strategy then other strategies. But with this strategy, you don't have to make many tanks. You have to make some to protect your teslas and keep the enemy tanks busy. Also, don't make a line of teslas to the enemy's base. That won't work. You should make a group of teslas, a few powerplants, and go on. You will need to make a lot of powerplants for all your teslas. Also, make sure you make many air defenses for your teslas since it only takes 2 MIGS to blow up a Tesla. V-2 Rockets work well to counter this strategy too. This is possibly the meanest strategy of all.
4. Preventing the Allies to build their Boats- As fast as you can make as many subs as possible. Send them over to the enemy shore and just let them sit there. The Allied player then won't be able to make any more boats and/or place their naval yard anywhere since your subs are there. They can't destroy your subs since they can't see them! (Finally found a use for those subs! :)
5. Nuking Your Own Unit- This is actaully a strategy. It can pay to nuke your own unit. Place the Iron Curtain 'veil of invincibility' on a unit. Move the now invincible unit with in your opponent's base. Your opponent will most likely send everything it has against your and around your invincible unit will be tons of enemy units. Now nuke your own unit. Your unit should be fine if the iron curtain is still on, but the enemy will suffer damagte. If you're successful, the enemy will send everything it has against your unit, you nuke it and wipe out all of your opponent's units. Then you can easily hurt his base with your unit that you put the iron curtain on since he's already in the base and the opponent's defense structures should be too far out to hurt you. Its a funny way to kill your opponent.
6. Dog Tricks- Before attacking a heavily tesla coil defended base, make a bunch of those Soviet Puppies. Before attacking with your tanks, send in the dogs to take up the teslas' shots as your tanks do the work. Hey, if animal cruelty helps you win a war, the way I see it, who cares? (The Humane Society will be after me because of that! :)
7. Cronoshifting MCV Backlash- This happened to me in a game. I was soviet, doing whatever. My opponent, allied player, thought he could take me down with cronoshifting an MCV into my base and making tanyas. I quickly placed some teslas to destroy the barracks and tanyas he was making after he cronoshifted the MCV. He was pretty pissed since his tactic didn't work but the fun was just beginning. I quickly got out engineers and took over his construction yard that was still in my base. I messeged him, "Thanks for cronoshifting an allied cy inside my base!" He then cussed me out. I made Longbows and Cruisers to kill him with. I was laughing at the thought of killing him with his own units. He didn't think it was so funny. :)
