wRASP Downloads

The current version of wRASP is v2.0 which was released in January of 1997. It is compiled as a 16-bit application for Windows 3.1 and requires a minimum of an 80386 processor. The installations below will work for Windows 3.1x and Windows 95. According to others who have used it, the Windows 95 installation will work with Windows NT.

wRASP requires two Borland support libraries (BC500RTL.DLL and BWCC.DLL) to be placed in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. These are included in the InstallShield installations and placed in the correct location.

Both Windows 95 and Windows 3.1x installations contain the same 16-bit wRASP and DLL files. The "Install Shield" versions use InstallShield Express for installation. This is a widely used installation package that most Windoze users are familiar with.

UnZip using available UnZIP programs (WinZip is excellent).

If you want just the files (no installation program), just download wRASP (211k) and the DLLs (131k) separately or together (342k). UnZip using available UnZIP programs into an empty directory (C:\WRASP, for example). Then copy or move the two DLL files to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Using Program Manager, select the group to run wRASP from ("Rockets" maybe) or create a new one, add a new item by browsing for "WRASP.EXE". Also fill in the "working directory" (use wRASP's directory) and wRASP will be ready to run.

Current version of wRASP is v2.0 (January 1997).
wRASP is written in Borland C++ v5.01A.

Adventuresome? These downloads are "not quite ready for prime time", meaning that the supporting data (like help files) are not complete, but the program has some new features and data files.

Uninstalling wRASP

If you installed wRASP using InstallShield, merely select the "Uninstall" icon in the wRASP program group. If you had run wRASP, some output and log files were generated and must be deleted manually after Uninstall runs. You may elect to keep the two Borland DLL files since other programs might use them.

If you installed manually, delete the directory that contains the wRASP files. It is probably good to keep the two Borland DLL files since other programs might use them.

Finally, manually delete the wRASP configuration file, wrasp.ini in the C:\WINDOWS directory.
