Edo's Buzz/Guillotine, v1.0

by Edo (hrzic@hawaii.edu)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Well, a specific card has been eyeing me for the past few months,
but I could never think of a way to use it correctly. Yes,
friends, that overlooked card "Electrode", and it's Energy-giving
Pokemon Power, "Buzzap". Somehow, I wanted to TRY to abuse this
potential energy, even though it put your opponent one step ahead
toward victory.

I think I saw two to three other decks in the archives that use
this, but they seemed to concentrate more Buzzing, then using
that Energy for a discard attack.

*I* consider this deck unique, but others may not. I need help
to refine it. My thoughts on weaknesses are below.

----------| Pokemon (23 total):

04 Voltorb
04 Electrode (Basic)
04 Pinsir
04 Nidoran (M)
03 Nidorino
04 Scyther

----------| Trainers (15 total):

04 Bill
02 Professor Oak
02 Pokemon Trader
01 Computer Search
04 Energy Removal
02 Super Energy Removal

----------| Energy (22 total):

16 Grass Energy
04 Double Colorless

==========|  Usage:

Well, the whole goal is fast damage. In the perfect setting, you
drop a Pinsir as your Active, and at least a Voltorb. Drop a
Grass Energy on the Pinsir. Then, on the second turn, drop
another Grass Energy on Pinsir, evolve Voltorb to Electrode, then
Buzzap, dropping the Electrode on Pinsir. Boom. Second-turn 50
damage. The first two of the Nidoran (Male) family are in here,
and a first-turn Nidoran (M) would work in the Pinsir spot. Or,
with Scyther, your odds of doing the second-turn 60 is increased
dramatically, since you have BOTH Double-Colorless Energy and
possible Buzzing.

==========|  Weaknesses:

Where the heck do you want me to begin?

- Clearly, the Pokemon in this deck need to survive because
you'll be Buzzaping. So, I need either protection and/or healing
to keep the other Pokemon alive so your opponent doesn't win.
- Scyther decks could rip through both the Nidorino and Pinsir on
the second turn, so I'll need some protection.
- Wiggly could just stand there and pound, while this deck
languishes. So, I thought about using one or two Hitmonchans
(which wouldn't even be able to attack unless you Buzzed).
- I could go on with Switch, Gust, etc., but you get the drift.

This deck MIGHT work, but I think it is more of a novel idea,
rather than a working deck even with appropriate changes. What
do y'all think?
