The following cards are limited in their use in Japanese tournament circles. Note that when the English-language version of the game is released, this list may or may not have a bearing on non-Japanese tournaments.

Konami updates this restricted list every four or five months, if there are any cards that are being abused during tournaments, or have a overbearing presence on games. If you can read Japanese, check the official Japanese Duel Monsters site at http://www.yugioh-card.com/japan/ .

• Banned Cards (You cannot include any of the following card in your deck.)
  • None (There are no standard-release cards that have been banned for use in tournaments.)
