Battle 198: The Battle Retold!

The second letter of the Ouija Board, the letter E, has appeared
above the Field. Yugi has three turns left before he loses.

Bakura's turn comes and he simply places a card, and lets Yugi
take his. Unknown to Yugi, the marionette has possessed the
Black Magician Girl. Yugi attacks with his Magnet Warrior Beta,
but Bakura activates the "Dark Spirit of Silence" Trap card,
forcing Yugi to attack with another of his monsters - the Black
Magician Girl, activating the Marionette's Spirit Burn (Y's LP:
750, B's LP: 3750).

Yugi thinks of a way to get out of this situation. He thinks,
and thinks, then takes a look at the cards in his hand, and gets
an idea. He places two cards and ends his turn. Bakura simply
ends his.

Yugi then plays the "Monster Recall" card, sending all of his
monsters back to his hand, and shuffling to get a new hand. At
this time, the Marionette and Dark Spirit float around the Field.
Yugi plays a Kuribo in attack mode, getting possessed by both
spirits. Yugi then activates "Chain Destruction", destroying the
Kuribo and the spirits in the process. The fourth letter appears
above the Field, T.

Battle 199: One Turn Struggle To The Death!

The fourth letter has appeared on the Field, with one turn left.
Yugi exclaims that all he needs is one turn to smash Bakura's
Occult Combo apart.

Bakura and Malik has a little chat in Bakura's head. Yugi has no
monsters on the Field, and one good whack from the monster in
Bakura's hand, the Ghost Duke (5/2000/700). But as Malik
explains, there is one weak-point to Bakura's combo -- Necrophia
must be in the Cemetery. If it leaves the Cemetery, the Ouija
Board disappears. Malik comes to the conclusion that Yugi's
remaining placed card is Raise Dead. He'll use it when Bakura
attacks, grabbing Necrophia from the Cemetery, destroying
Bakura's attacking monster, and dispelling the Ouija Board.
Bakura draws a card, and gets a wonderful idea. Bakura summons
the Ghost Duke and attacks.

Just like Malik said, Yugi activates Raise Dead for the
situation. However, after the attack, Bakura plays the "Deja Vu"
card (When this card is played, the Field reverts to 1 turn
earlier. However, Magic and Trap cards are not returned to their
player's hands). This means that the Ouija Board is back, along
with three of Yugi's monsters.

Yugi has one last turn. And in that turn, he draws and summons
Osiris.

Battle 200: Are You Going To Attack?!

Bakura can only stand there in shock as Osiris appears before
him. Malik consoles Bakura that he has put up a good fight, but
one hit from Osiris will end the duel. Bakura tries to get the
Marionette to possess Osiris, but God cards cannot be possessed.

Rishid (in the guise of Malik), comes out and forces Bakura to
revert back to the normal Bakura. And he states that if Bakura
is attacked, his life will be sacrificed.

Yugi isn't sure of what to do, but with 10 seconds left for him
to play his turn, there aren't many choices. The other Bakura
indeed tries to win in the end, and Bakura changes to the other
Bakura, and orders Yugi to attack. He does so.

Battle 201: For The Sake of Bonds!

Bakura swears that he'll have the powers of darkness in the end,
just as he gets nailed by Osiris' Thunder Force. Bakura is
knocked unconscious. Anzu takes possession of the Millennium
Ring for safe keeping, which Bakura is taken to the infirmary.
Yugi is congratulated, and they consider their next move, and
what Malik's motives are.

The next challengers are chosen: Katsuya Jounouchi against Malik
Ishtahl (Rishid in disguise).

Battle 202: The Shrine's Trap!

The battle starts with Jounouchi going first, summoning Gear
Freed (4/1800/1600). In an overhead shot of Rishid's hand, we
see LOTS of Trap cards in his hand. He plays the "Shrine of the
Pharaoh," which allows him to place up to two Trap cards per turn
(NOTE: Remember, in the Battle City arc, players can only
play/place one Magic and one Trap card per turn). He places two
cards, and ends his turn.

Jounouchi summons a Panther Warrior (4/2000/?) and ends his turn.
Rishid places two more cards. Jounouchi tries to play Hurricane
(Return all Magic and Trap cards on the Field to their owner's
hands), but Rishid activates the "Judgement of Anubis" Trap card
(When your opponent plays a Magic card, negate it. Destroy all
monsters on the Field, and do damage to your opponent equal to
half the combined attack strength of the monsters) (J's LP:
1850).

Battle 203: Trap World of Death!

Rishid sets another card, and ends his turn. Jounouchi summons a
Wyvern Warrior (4/1500/1200). He knows he can't attack yet, and
simply places a card and ends his turn. Rishid ends his turn
without doing anything.

Jounouchi knows that he's waiting for him to attack. He summons
a Rocket Soldier (4/1500/?) and directly attacks. Rishid
activates the "Psyche of Ujat's Eye", sending the attack back at
Jounouchi's Wyvern Warrior. Jounouchi activates the "Monster
Box" Trap in response, negating the attack. Jounouchi gloats
about the small victory, but Rishid reveals that his true Trap,
activating three Trap-Monster cards, called "The Avatar of
Apophis" (When your opponent attacks, activate. Summon an
"Avatar of Apophis" monster to the Field, with attack strength of
1600 and defense strength of 1800).

Battle 204: Grabbing The Duel!

Jounouchi's sweating. All he can do is place a card, which is
the Scape Goat. He ends his turn.

Rishid attacks with all three Avatars, and as Jounouchi activates
the Scape Goat card, Rishid counts with Magic Removal, negating
it. The Avatarscut through Jounouchi and his monsters (J's LP:
50).

Jounouchi is about to give up, but with some prodding from his
sister, and the pride of the duelists that he has defeated behind
him, gets back up and resumes, with Yugi stating, "You can see
it, but you can't see it."

Jounouchi draws, places two cards, and ends his turn. Rishid
attacks. Jounouchi activates the "Foolish Burial" card (Put one
card from your deck into your opponent's Cemeter), and then the
"Grave Digger" card (Steal one card from your opponent's
Cemetery).

The Psycho Shocker annihilates all of Rishid's Avatars.

Battle 205: One Unexpected Card!

Jounouchi directly attacks with the Psycho Shocker, as Rishid is
unable to use Trap cards (R's LP: 1600). Malik is unconcerned,
as he has something in store for Rishid.

In trouble, Rishid plays Sealing Swords of Light, halting
Jounouchi for three turns. Jounouchi summons the Legendary
Fisherman. Rishid draws, and is shocked to find that particular
card in his own deck (Ra). Rishid places a card, then puts a
card in the Shrine, and ends his turn.

Jounouchi summons a Baby Dragon and ends his turn. Rishid places
a card and ends his turn.

Since the Sealing Swords of Light's effect is done with, Rishid
activates two cards: "Crest of Selket" (If you have assembled the
Shrine of the Pharaoh and the Holy Chalice, you may summon the
Holy Beast Selket) and "Holy Chalice" (If you have assembled the
Shrine of the Pharaoh and the Crest of Selket, you may summon the
Holy Beast Selket). He summons the Holy Beast Selket.

Battle 206: The Family of Revenge!

Rishid has summoned Selket (Attack 2500). Jounouchi's sweating
it, yet again. Rishid is still wondering why the Ra card is in
his deck. It's actually a copy of the real Ra card; Malik still
has the original. Earlier attempts to make copies of the God
cards led to the "Wrath of the God Card" effect on the players of
the game, doing "spiritual" damage, and driving some insane.
Malik's advice is not to worry, as the process is supposed to
have been "perfected."

Jounouchi puts all of his monsters in defense mode and ends his
turn. Rishid attacks the Psycho Shocker with Selket, and it eats
the Shocker, much to the disgust of the onlookers (even Yugi is
grossed out). When Selket eats a monster, its attack strength is
increased by half the attack strength of the eaten monster
(Selket's attack strength 3700). Jounouchi tells Shizuka not to
look away, and look to the light, which sends Rishid into a
flashback.

Rishid was left at the site of the Ishtahl family crypt when he
was a child. The Ishtahl family begrudgingly took him. As long
as the Ishtahl family didn't have a male heir, Rishid would have
the been taught the etiquette of protecting the grave. But Malik
was born for years later.

Years later, Malik isn't happen about going through the ritual to
get his back mutilated with a picture of the god cards on his
back on his tenth birthday. Malik asks Rishid to take his place.
Rishid goes to his foster father to ask to be in Malik's place,
and afterward, to allow Rishid to call him "father." But since
he has no Ishtahl blood in him, Ishtahl flatly refuses, and if
Rishid ever talks about the family secrets again, Ishtahl will
kill him.

After the ceremony, Malik comes to see that Rishid had mutilated
his own face, as he couldn't let Malik go through the pain alone,
and become one with Malik's ambitions. From that moment, Malik
allowed Rishid to become his shadow.
