From the 19th Hole

July - October 1998

Rounds 10 and 11

It has been a couple of months since I last updated the golf cards. This has been mainly due to work pressure and lack of sleep. Here are the 2 games Richard and I played.
The first round was with Owen Tumulty and Brian Thrush. The second was with a couple of guys from a company called Height Busters. They do work which requires abseiling off the side of buildings, (they were checking the security of brick tiles on the side of one of the buildings at my work a few months ago).

Points about my game.
As is obvious the front nine was reasonable. I hit my drives well most of the time and my green play was better then usual. On the back nine however I reckon Richard stuck pins into a voodoo doll and everything went to complete shyte. It was mostly due to me losing my concentration and not relaxing into the shots.

Richard's back nine however was a brilliant effort and his game seemed to come together after a nasty front nine.

on to the next game.....

Features of the game

I didn't play exceptionally well. There were bad shots and good but on the whole it was a game of two halves and the winner was golf.

Richard managed to draw within a shot of me on the front nine but some gremlin sat on his shoulder for the back nine and blew him out to a disappointing 62. Richard is still haunted by his slice which accounted for 2 lost balls at hole 12 from the tee.
