July 2 1997 : My best score in a B5N light bomber 508 points
Raxx's Story....
One of my best nights flying lead to my biggest score ever. Nut- and I were attacking the CV just for a bit of fun after the world reset. Between us he took more of the escorts and destroyers so I was going to let Nut- take out the aircraft carrier. Nut- got holed rather badly and missed. I managed to hit and the CV went down. The great part was I got 200 points for sinking a ship, 200 more points for capturing the airfield and another 108 points just because I was so damn good.
Below is a slightly edited picture of my score, (I cut it up to reduce the size of the document as the original is over 300kb).

As a bit of fun later in the evening I was flying with geeb and nao- against hrtk, chaz and a few other golds in a "machine gun only" set of duels. There were several different planes flying. I chose the SBD-5 and had some success. MG only duels are where you can't use cannons. The dogfights last longer and are a lot more fun. I may try and organise a session of this with my squadron if people are interested.
Another variation on this is to take the squadron to our home airfield in the practice arena. Everyone flys the same plane and being all the same colour there is no AAA to worry about. Then have a free for all shooting down your mates. This can be real fast, quick death and takeoff fighting. Nobody gets to go above 2,000 ft and it is good practice for turn fighting.
The only rules are ....
1) everyone uses the same planes
2) anything goes.
You can shoot people on the runway as they takeoff or land or are in the air. There are no wingmen so you have to watch your own ass.
Landings are rare but since you are in the practice/dueling arena the points don't count against your overall scores, (even for shooting down a friendly).
