The Battle of Gettysburg is arguably the only decisive Union Victory. According to many present military strategists, this battle was the turning point in the Civil War. This gruesome battle lasted 3 days from July 1st to July 3rd, 1863. The most Americans died in this battle than any other battle in any war. Over 151,000 loyal, brave Americans died in this horrifying battle. The battle shattered the chances and hopes of the war being won by the Confederates because of the lack of manufacturing capacities, transportation facilities, and trade. This was their last offensive attack of the war. The Confederate Army was forced to fight defensively for the remainder of the war.
