Ace Combat known as Air Combat in the US is now underway as a sequel. A US date is unknown but check out these pics
The sequel to the great 3D shooting game with (sort of) flight simulator overtones. The sometimes choppy and blocky graphics of the first title have been substantially improved with much greater details. For example, Namco isn't afraid of showing a city in broad daylight unlike Mission 4 night-time raid. This time, there are around 30 missions, or almost double the 17 of the first title. There's a greater variety of missions too such as interception and identification of UFOs, dogfights within a limited time, target shooting and a missile search-and-destroy mission. In some missions, satisfying certain conditions will open hidden missions that could possibly affect the ending. It's certain that there will be more planes to choose from than the sixteen in the first game. The planes so far known to be in the game are Su-35, F-22, YF-23, SU-25, SF-37, Mig-29, A-10 and F-4. Namco also hinted that there could be some antique planes.
