Sky Target is based on Sega's hit Afterburner. While still based on the same basic arcade style of Afterburner, Sky Target offers a much more realistic and complex game. The arcade version is on the Model 2 Arcade Board, but a great Saturn conversion is definitely possible.
The Story is as follows:
The U.S. Army's new secret super high performance fighter XF/A-49 "White Sword", is stolen by a multinational arms
manufacturer. In order to prevent leakage of the top secret of XF/A-49, and further leakage of other top secret information, the
command "Locate and destroy!" is given to the four fighter pilots dispatched to find it. Who will be able to fulfill their duty
and fly through the impossible bombardment of enemy fire and ultimatly destroy "Whtie Sword"?
Select from four kinds of fighter planes, each is equipped with a missiles and a Vulcan cannon. It is designed so that it can be easily used by beginning and advanced players. When locking-on the enemy, attack with the missile when the enemy flies close by, shoot with the Vulcan cannon.
Sky Target is scheduled for an April 25th release in Japan, and Sega has announced a US release for July 97.
