![]() To the south, the great fortress like gates of the Army of Angmar swing eerily in the breeze, their massive iron hinges smashed beyond repair when the Army retreated from its mountain hideout. If you like, you can exit the tomb-like halls of the Army, heading for the cleaner air of the Misty Mountains outside. There is a dim light in the halls, reflecting down from crystal prisms in the ceiling. You almost wish that there was no light, for the sight you see is not a pretty one. The bones of orc and man lie intermingled in careless heaps upon the stone floor, left where they died in battle. To add to the sense of horror and desolation, there is a musty smell of decay in the air. Off to the east, the corridor leads into the large mess-hall of the Army, once home to evil celebratory feasts, as the soldiers of the Army rejoiced over a particularly brutal and successful raid, or home to snarls of rage and anger at the loss of one of their members. You can head east to the mess-hall if you wish. To the north, the scene of desolation gets worse, as the battles seem to have been even fiercer in this direction. This way lies the main guild rooms of the Army. You can head north, deeper into the halls if you wish. Alternatively, if you know where you wish to head within the halls, you may consult your site map to take you straight there. |
