New Features in 1.04


This feature starts certain faiths as "active", meaning they start the game with their temples already taken. You cannot get an heir from them.

    Interface

  1. New party roster that combines economic with party location and activity in a full screen report.
  2. "Continue" button now appears if Balkoth is killed, allowing you to play until all faiths are conquered.
  3. Auto-calculate option from parley/encounter/enter cave screens.
  4. Ability to change the names of champions and cities
  5. Player now receives a message when a building is destroyed.
  6. Player receives a query message when attempting to take over an enemy building, mine, etc., and explaining the political consequences.
  7. On the combat results screen, there is a note which units gained a level.
  8. Potions of mana/healing show strength.
  9. Game speed rating is shown when changing the speed.
  10. Balloon help for prisoners.
  11. Player can re-enter a structure the unit is standing on by clicking on that structure.

    Barter

  12. AI performs "common sense" trades.

    A. Doesn't demand player take a gift of resources.
    B. Doesn't attack if any offer is declined.

  13. Keeps track of "Guessed value" from the start of the turn, so even after multiple barters, the values are based off of the first guess, not recalculate on each encounter.

    Magic & Artifacts

  14. Teleport Artifact functionality has changed to allow the user to target a destination for an artifact.
  15. All units display any artifacts that they are currently carrying, even if they can't wield and use an artifact.

    Combat

  16. Flee point markers have been added to all combat maps as a flag.
  17. Better control of units - have added grouping coimmands.
  18. Ranged units will not advance to melee when ordered to attack.
  19. Units w/ range and melee options can toggle easily between both modes.
  20. AI casts appropriate spell and changes play based on result of spell.
  21. All unit member attack if any one member attacks/is attacked (4 tile radius).
  22. Improved Auto-calc (realistic damage). Champions are last units killed in autocalc.

    Miscellaneous Improvements

  23. Random dungeon placement accommondates moving cities in editor.
  24. Player now receives resources and spells when they receive an heir commensurate with the political state prior to swearing fealty.
  25. No more death of Balkoth by other players.
