Crusin USA 64

This game is out and racing into homes everywhere thanks to Midway! The game is Crusin USA. Midway has been under a lot of heat lately about the quality of there N64 games. No offence to you, but I think most of those people who complain are psychotic freaks who wouldn't know a good time if it bit them in the ass!

Crusin USA may not have the best graphics in all the world, but it does rank up there with some of the hot 32 bit games. Anyway, there is a little thing that we call fun factor! That should be the key area in all games. Perhaps where MKT lacked, Crusin picks up. Thus game is fun! You have to love flippin over busses and Mac trucks, splatting bugs on your windshield, crashing through road side barrels and street signs, and careening through underground tunnels full of drunks and pot holes! It's unique things like this, along with the variety of the over a dozen tracks that makes this game great! If it's secret codes you want, this game is full of them,(Check Tips,Rumors,Etc. for the complete list) from the secret car, to the hidden track!

Another thing I liked is the sound and music! From funky intro music("Crusin...Crusin USA, yeah!") to the fast paced beat of a quick race through Chicago, this game delivers in the music area. Also, the sounds of squealing tires, flipping cars, and even the cop siren sound ultra real!

The games camera is also great providing a normal behind the car view, a zoomed out easy racing view, and an over the dash board full speed freak me out view. Ahem..The latter of the three is really great terms of easiest view and feeling of speed.

To really enjoy this game you'll need to save the faster cars you get after completing a race across the USA. This is real cool when you take your super fast cars and go to an easy level! You crush everyone! This game in my eyes is really fun and since I know some of you disagree, write me and tell me why. Anyway, I've found that while many people hate this game, I love it...go figure! And as always, we at HOTn64WEEKLY will speak our minds no matter ehat the "general" opinion tends to be...

    Press the top C, left C, bottom C all at once during the car selection room. All cars except the red car will be different. From left to right it is JEEP, SCHOOL BUS, and POLICE CAR.

    Secret Tracks

    By holding L and pressing a combination of 2 C buttons, you will be able to bring up three extra courses on the select a track screen.

    Flashing Lights (and siren)

    If you are either the bus or the police car, you can do this neat trick. Get a new record time and scroll down the hot times list. Hold left at the bottom for like 35 seconds. When the heads roll by, leave there, and start a new race with either the cop car or the bus (depending who you just were). During the race press Brake Brake Gas and hold Gas. Do this super fast to activate the code. Turn it off by releasing gas.

    Turbo Boost

    Be any car and do the same as before, activate the head and all. Then, when you start a new race press Brake Brake Gas Brake Gas and hold Gas. This will give you a boost. You can now do this after each check point.
