A combination of inner-city and outer-country along with
a bonus screens of Interstate Follies or Road Cruising. City
streets are outlined with tall buildings and lit street lamps
with flashing intersection signals and cross streets with no one
except for the racers and their spectators around. Police
presence is not present on the scene. Street surface is well lit
with little chance of running into interference of any sort.
Country roads on the other hand are small two-lane surfaces with
a light source from only the racer's headlights and the
occasional moon. Be pre-pared for occasional light traffic in
either lane and road condition to be less than perfect. Roads are
outlined with dark shadows of crops and barb-wired fences with
soft shoulders along road front. Expect Police presence to come
at any time. In summary, expect anything out there. As for the
bonus scenes, the Interstate Follies begins at an on ramp to
I-??? and continues on-ward for about a mile or two. Due to the
time of night, traffic will be light and police presence will
exist on this four-lane expressway. Road surface will be smooth
and predictable. Your defense against the highway patrol will be
a radar detector. A really souped up radar detector. This one has
the convenience of not only warning of a radar trap, but every
Police cruiser as well. A real convenience when you're driving
120 in a 60 MPH zone. As for the goal in Road Cruising, you have
to go to the drag zone from the meeting place while dodging
Police blockades and drunk driver traps using a road map that is
placed in the upper corner of the screen that automatically
locates all traps and blockades and cruisers, along with your
location. Road surfaces and lighting conditions vary with the
priority of the street.
