IRC Links

The probably most popular IRC client for Windows is mIRC. There are lots of other programs as well which I'll probably add later.

You can download a copy of mIRC at the official mIRC Page

If you want a script to "enhance" your IRC experience, then try one of the following sites. Yes yes, there are alot of pages and alot of scripts, most of them are probably based on each other and there are also lots of bad scripts.... If I get some response to this page then I'll think about writing down some of my experience with scripts and maybe offer some of the better ones here for download. I use a small script written by myself which has almost nothing but a some simple flood protection and some simple aliases. It's far from being a complete script but I don't plan on releasing it anyway and for me it's all I need.

Here a list of other IRC clients for Windows95 (some are available as Win3.x version too):

Visual IRC Homepage
I've tried this and it's really good. I'm just so used to mIRC .....

pIRCh Homepage
A lot of people prefer this to mIRC... a few too many anti-mIRC scripts - do I smell jealousy ? *laugh*.... same as vIRC it has nothing that I would miss.

XiRCON Homepage
This one is a real gem. It features TCL scripting which should be well known. Needs one or two updates but it's probably one of the most powerful IRC clients out there.

IRC Gold Homepage
I found this by accident and have no idea what that program is like. Tucows gave it 5 cows which is half a cow more than XiRCON or OrbitIRC. The download size is almost 4MB compared to mIRC which is not even 1MB. Update: I've downloaded the program and it wants to replace some files which are supposedly 'out of date' - I didn't want that because it didn't tell me what files would be replaced.
