Ming-Hua Kao sculpted this piece "Let's Dance" and handcast it. I saw the green on the sculpting group and was lucky enough to get my brushes on a copy. 2002


I had started painting her months ago, but I didn't like the way the red or gold cloth was coming out. It was frustrating; I like the figure but couldn't seem to paint it right! Everything finally clicked when I found a new light yellow gold paint. Using that with a dark olive undercoat gave the gold cloth that greenish undertone I was looking for.

She had a slight cast line along one cheek and across her eye which I decided to make into a scar. I had never painted a 'dead' eye before. I used Vallejo's azul (a natural looking blue) and ivory for the effect. I let the scar run thru her eyebrow.
