This is an old Julie Guthrie figure. 2002

I highlighted the green by mixing in ivory, something I hadn't tried with anything other than leather before. It doesn't show very well in the pics, but he almost glows in natural or fluorescent light. I added a lot more white as shine to his hair than I usually do. I've highlighted and shaded metals before with other metal colors, but this time I experimented with using heavy amounts of black paint on the metals - his left leg is entirely black on the inside, along with the underside of his arm protectors, and parts of the mace. I wasn't real happy with the wood effect.

Another old Julie Guthrie figure. I like her face. 2002

This is a Grenadier Ranger from a 1982 box set of characters. I did the base in the old-fashioned way - painting all the detail on. 2002

Wacky 80s figure I got from Dragglestown. I gave him pants and some shoes. 2002.

This is a Grenadier figure from a 1982 box set of characters. I was trying to paint him as if he was standing with a strong light source above him. He was my first successful attempt at painting metal without using metal paints. 2001.
