Varieties of First Generation Norns

There are three kinds of norns that come with the Creatures game CD. The females of each type are on the left. The first pair are "haired" or "horse" norns. The second pair are "bald" norns. The third pair are "maned" or "white haired" norns. Except for appearance genes, these norns could all be clones.

Purple Mountain norns are from the distant purple mountains of Albia. They have upturned ears, white hair and tails, bracelets, and their bodies are mostly purple. The female (below left) has a pony tail and the male (below right) has a mohawk. They have a few genes relating to their biochemistry that are not found in the basic norn types. Some of these relate to a new "happiness" chemical. The Purple Mountain variety can be obtained either from Cyberlife's web page, or from Life Kit #1.

An example of the ancestral norn, commonly referred to as a "Ron" norn (after the first norn), is shown below. Males are brown and females are red. Ron-norns are reputed to have advanced "fight or flight" genetic codes, making these norn more capable of self-defense than other basic norn types. The females tend to become very angry when frightened. They have genes involving chemicals called activase, turnase, and collapsase, which are not found in the other basic types of norns. The Ron-norns can only be obtained from the Life Kit #1 CD.

The Forest norns (shown below) can only be obtained from the Life Kit #1 CD. The males are more peaceful than other types of norns. The females are more intelligent and have better memories than other types of norns, but are very vunerable to stress.

The Santa norn can be obtained either from Cyberlife's web page, or from Life Kit #1. He is really just a "novelty" norn. He is not fertile. If you want male and female fertile santa-norns, click here.
