In the Marine Corps and other military branches, there are two kinds of personnel: Active and Reserve. The biggest difference between the two is the time spent in uniform; Meaning, how much time the Marine spends his/her time doing their MOS (job).

Here are the some of the entitlements as a Marine


Active Benefits:

  1. 4 or 5 year enlistment terms.
  2. 75% of all college is paid for by the US Government through entire enlistment.
  3. After 2 years in the Marines you will recieve over $500 for four college years under the Montgomery G.I. Bill
  4. Starting pay at $1040.00 monthly.
  5. Guaranteed pay increase each year through congress.
  6. Promotion to E-3 Lance Corporal in 14 months or less.
  7. Accelarated promotion opportunities.
  8. Over 300 tech. fields available such as aviations, computers, mechanics, communications and logistics just to name a few.
  9. 30 days paid vacation per year (leave).

  6. Over 300 tech. fields available such as aviations, computers, mechanics, communications and logistics just to name a few.
  7. Guaranteed duty station upon enlistment.
  8. Marine reserves is totally designed for the college bound students.
  9. 100% medical coverage during drill weekends.
  10. 100% dental coverage during drill weekends.
  11. Work only two days per month.
  12. 14 days in the Summertime.
  13. Total of 38 days a year.
  14. The college of attendance must be an accredited university or junior college to receive the tuition assitance.
