Dear Adventurer,

Welcome to the third edition of the Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School! This is just to let you know of some new upcoming things going on with Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire.

This Thursday, at 8:00pm, we will be sponsoring an open conference with Lori Cole, the designer of the Quest For Glory series and our current title, Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire. Lori will be available to chat, answer questions, and listen to suggestions in a live chat room. Terry Robinson, Lori's assistant and Art Director, will also be there to field questions from everyone. The conference will start promptly at 8:00pm, so you might want to arrive a few minutes early to make sure you get in O.K. Please point your web browser to http://www.sierra.com/games/qg5/rules.html to enter the conference. There will be a link from the rules page to the conference room.

Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire is having a contest!! We can't release any specifics yet, but we wanted to let all of our F.A.C.S. members know about it so you can keep checking the web site (both http://www.sierra.com and http://www.sierra.com/entertainment/qg5) for details. It will be happening really soon, so stay tuned. (p.s. you might want to practice your drawing ability!!)

In the last F.A.C.S. newsletter Lori asked which character out of all the QFG games was your favorite, and here are the results:

vote(s) character

187 Erasmus and Fenrus 108 Rakeesh 73 "thief" 53 "mage" 49 "paladin" 48 Erana 43 Katrina 25 Baba Yaga and Skull 23 "fighter" 23 Igor 21 Keapon Laffin 13 Ad Avis 11 Sheema and Shameen 10 "hero" 10 Punny Bones 9 Aziza 9 Uhura 8 Rusalka 7 Manu the Monkey 6 Antwerps 6 'enry the 'ermit 6 Salim 5 Dinarzad 5 Otto Von Goon 4 Jester Yorik 4 Earth Pig 4 Dr. Cranium 3 Wandering Waffle 3 Ali Fakir 3 Black Bird 2 Zara 2 Saurus 2 Meeps 2 Thief in Marketplace 2 Zayisha 2 Whirling Dervish 2 Hanz, Franz and Ivan 2 Julinar 1 the rhino 1 the djinni 1 burgomeister 1 female centaur 1 Elsa Von Spielburg 1 Davy 1 the kobold 1 Kaleemehra 1 the goblins in QFG1 1 Necrotaur 1 the minotaur 1 Rakeesh's wife 1 Domovoi 1 leopard lady 1 leopard king 1 Bruno 1 Gronk 1 Brauggi 1 the sheriff in QFG1 ----------- 813 total

It looks like Erasmus and Fenrus won by an overwhelming majority (187 votes), which is valuable information to have when designing a new game in the series (hmmm.I wonder what THAT means).

Web updates:

1) We've added some music to our web page in both RealAudio format as well as WAV format so you'll be able to hear some of the music that's really going in the game. To hear the RealAudio pieces you'll need to be using either Netscape 2.0 (or higher) or Microsoft Internet Exporer. Both of those browsers will need the RealAudio 3.0 "plug in" available from the RealAudio home page: http://www.realaudio.com It's free to download and we suggest you get it since a lot of the audio on the web is now in RealAudio format.

2) We've updated the Image Gallery to get you some of the latest screen shots that will be in the game so if you haven't checked out the page in awhile, now is the time.

3) We also added a "F.A.C.S. Newsletter archive" for those of you that have missed one or more issues of this newsletter.

4) We'll be removing the sketches from our pages in the next few days, so if you want to save some of the new sketches we uploaded, now is the time to do so.

Well, that's about it for this edition of the Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to email them to feedback@qg5.com. Some of you have been emailing me directly and unfortunately you need to send everything to the above address since that is the only email account we use to answer mail. Also, please allow some time for us to get back to you since we are now receiving a ton of email from everyone.

Thank you for being a member of our F.A.C.S. newsletter, and we'll catch you in a few weeks with some more juicy info on Dragon Fire.

Until next time,

Paul Trowe Associate Producer QFG V: Dragon Fire
