These cheats and tricks have been compiled from various sources. However, there are no guarantees that they will work. Please save your game before attempting the cheats (especially the built-in cheat mode) and use them at your own risk.
Like the original Quest for Glory 1 game, Trial by Fire also has a built-in debug/cheat mode that can be toggled on and off simply by typing the phrase "suck blue frogs" at any time. Once the cheat mode is on, you can use the following Alt+Key combinations to do various things, like change your character's statistics; obtain gold or other useful items; and even teleport to almost any location in the game.
The cheat mode is automatically toggled off when you exit a particular game screen. However, it is recommended that you explicitly toggle it off by typing the phrase before leaving the screen.

Those with lockpicking skills and a lockpick or a Thieves' toolkit can use this pseudo-cheat or trick to improve their lockpicking skill very quickly.
When you import a saved character from Quest for Glory 1 who knows Magic, your character will automatically know the Zap spell upon importation. This spell is the initial spell given to Mages at the beginning of QFG1: So You Want to Be a Hero? and is not otherwise available for purchase in any of the games.
Like the magic mushrooms in the VGA remake of QFG1, you can sell the Whirl of Dervish's beard to Keapon Laffin over and over and get paid for it. You just need to get the beard from the Dervish in the Oasis once. Then at the Magic Shop, type "sell beard" repeatedly until you have all the money you need.
There are several tricks that one can use to quickly raise Honor in Shapeir. Not that tricking the game to raise Honor is the most honorable thing to do. Some of these may boost Communication as well.
