Capcom reports record earnings Here's the article from The Magic Box. Unfortunately Street Fighter seems to be playing less and less of a part in Capcom's scheme, compared to the early nineties. Capcom has reported record earnings for the last fiscal year, the profit has gone up 6.4 times from last year, reaching 9,700,000,000 yen, and the net profit has increased by 2.8 times at 8,700,000,000 yen. Sales were 51,500,000,000 yen, increased by 34%, thanks to their smash hit survival horror series. Bio Hazard 3 sold 3.52 millions, Dino Crisis sold 1.55 millions, Bio Hazard Code Veronica sold 730,000 copies and Bio Hazard 2 for N64 sold 460,000 copies worldwide. Despite of the profits, Capcom's arcade department has reported a loss of 2,000,000,000 yen, due to an unpopular arcade game Spawn: In the Demon's Hand. Capcom is expecting a 7% decrease in sales for the next term, and a 34% decrease in net profit, due to the transition period from Playstation to Playstation 2. Capcom expects to ship one million copies of Onimusha: Warlords for PS2 worldwide.

More Capcom vs. SNK information From The Magic Box: New info on Capcom and SNK's cross over fighting game Capcom vs SNK: Millennium Fight 2000, scheduled to release in August, the game is developed by Capcom. You can select from two different fighting styles: Capcom Groove or SNK Groove. In Capcom Groove you get a Super Combo gauge which can store up to 3 levels, just like the Street Fighter Zero series. And the SNK Groove is similar to the KOF series, you can use super attacks when you have stocks in the combo gauge, and you can also use desperation moves when the life meter turns red. A new Variable Character system is installed in the game, you can choose to play the game with a team of 2 - 4 characters. The fewer characters you choose, the higher the strength and power each character has, and the more characters you selected, the weaker their power and strength are, but then you have the advantage of having more characters to play with. Because of this new system, there will be uneven battles like 2 vs 3, or 2 vs 4 during the game. Capcom vs SNK is currently 15% completed, so far there are 12 playable characters, including Ryu, Ken, Chunli, Guile, Blanka, Zangief from Capcom, and Kyo, Iori, Terry, Mai, Raiden (Big Bear), and Benimaru. There will be a total of 28 characters in the final version.
