SF Zero 3 Upper announced From The MagicBox: Sega of Japan will be publishing an updated version of Capcom Street Fighter Zero III in arcade on February 20, called Street Fighter Zero III Upper, the game will run on the Naomi GD-ROM system, the game will have all the extra characters (Fei Long, Deejay, etc) and features (Survival, Dramatic battle, etc) from the home version, and it will feature communication battle with the home version of Street Fighter Zero III For Matching Service. You can also load up your custom ISMs from the Visual Memory card in the arcade version. Oh, and according to Madman's Cafe, the symbol for 'upper' is an upwards pointing arrow.
Interview with Capcom vs SNK game Developers Madman's Cafe has an interesting interview with Capcom vs. SNK developers Yoshihiro Sudo (Producer) and Hideako Itsuno (Director). Here's a sample of the Interview: What were the points and problems when creating the SNK characters? After numerous meetings, we decided to create the game with the question in mind: "What would SNK characters be like if they were in a Capcom game?". That is to say, we decided not to concentrate too much in making characters detailedly to SNK. Although some parts, we did concentrate a lot into doing so. Making SNK characters detailedly the same as SNK is no different from just porting them. So we've created them as SNK characters with Capcom taste, with feelings almost as though they were New Capcom characters. Read the full article here.

Street Fighter Zero 3 for Matching Service announced From The Magic Box: Capcom will release Street Fighter Zero 3 for Matching Service in Japan on February 8, 2001, for 3800 yen. This version will have an enhanced Dramatic Battle Mode, in which you can freely select any characters for the 2 VS 1 battle. During the network battles, you can also send instant messages to the opponent, you can send instant messages by pressing direction button and Start together, such as "It will be tricky", "Victory!", "Hey" and so on. | ![]() |
