Story
1800 years ago the Kusanagi and Yagami clans united to defeat and seal away the evil Orochi power. However the Yagamis eventually betrayed the union and became corrupted with the Orochi blood. The crimson flames they once shared with the Kusanagis turned deathly purple. Thus Iori is the latest of the cursed Yagami clan. His sole fixation is the destruction of Kyo, of the Kusanagi. Though a brilliant fighter, Iori's painful destiny and cursed short life span means he can harbour no happiness.

History
Iori Yagami first appeared in The King of Fighters '95, and has been in every KOF since. In 1996 he fought alongside Kyo to defeat Goenitz of the Orochi, just as the two clans united 1800 years ago. After the battle, Iori is told of his Orochi heritage and succumbs to the terrible Riot of the Blood (like how Ryu became Evil Ryu). Over the next few years, Iori constantly battles his Orochi blood, never getting the chance to face Kyo in a clean battle. Riot of the Blood Iori is a secret Ratio 4 character in Capcom vs. SNK.
