The day my daughter Lacey was fit enough to travel to Halifax, to the IWK hospital, my husband and I loaded her into our van, with the IV hanging from the suit carrier. My parents had bought her a deluxe car seat with extra padding to make the 5 hour drive a little more comfortable. So began our journey into the life of parents, with a child with cancer. We were first on the ward with children with problems with there, urinary track. Off to the operating room for the biopsy, and our worst fears came true.
