Ogre Battle 64: Female Classes

Girls rule! Boys drool! Maybe?

Class: Amazon
Prefered Alignment: Any
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Shoot
Middle Row: 1 X Shoot
Back Row: 2 X Shoot
Stats: Must be evolved from a solider.

In my opinion, these are a little better than a Fighter. Not much, but a bit.
The unit leader must be female when a soldier is promoted in order to get an
Amazon, which can turn into a number of human female classes.

Class: Valkyrie
Prefered Alignment: Neutral - High
Attacks:
Front Row: 2 X Cleave
Middle Row: 1 X Cleave
Back Row: 2 X Lightning
Stats: Requires a good STR, VIT, and INT.

The basic fighter of the girls, the Valkyrie is somewhat like a Knight - good
all around character. She tends to have somewhat low HP and a not-very-great
defense, but all in all, she's pretty good. Nice in the front and back rows, so
being attacked from behind or from the side might not hurt too much.

Class: Archer
Prefered Alignment: Neutral
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Shoot
Middle Row: 2 X Shoot
Back Row: 2 X Shoot
Stats: Requires a good STR and DEX.

I love these women!! They fill the middle row nicely if you have too many
Sorceresses or Wizards in the back row, and they have a *lot* of power. Terrific
dexterity - they dodge attacks like crazy. Just beware of a slightly less-than-
normal HP level.

Class: Witch
Prefered Alignment: Neutral
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Effect Magic
Middle Row: 1 X Effect Magic
Back Row: 2 X Effect Magic
Stats: Requires a good INT, MEN, and DEX.

Hmm. Witches usually don't attack - they use different spells to cause different
effects. Fire and Wind spells will Paralyze one foe, Water and Bane spells will
put him or her to sleep, and Earth will poison the foe. Stay away from Earth
unless you're in training, as poison is not that special - deals no damage, just
lowers some stats. However, notice this: A Witch tends to be stronger than a
Sorceress or Wizard. Since she can't deal damage, this is useless, right? Wrong.
Give her a magic book, like the Tempest or Meteor Strike, and watch the chaos
insue. Mwa. Ha. Ha. Plus, she can easily be raised to lawful as well.

Class: Dragon Tamer
Prefered Alignment: Neutral - High
Attacks:
Front Row: 2 X Thrust
Middle Row: 1 X Thrust
Back Row: 1 X Thrust
Stats: Requires a good STR, VIT, and DEX.

Not bad at *all*. Reasonably good HP, nice attacking strength, and a consider-
able ability to dodge attacks rather well, she's special enough on her own.
However, consider this: She *also* increases the power of dragons in the party.
Tell me that's not cool!

Class: Sorceress
Prefered Alignment: Neutral - Low
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Magic
Middle Row: 1 X Magic
Back Row: 2 X Magic
Stats: Requires a good INT and MEN.

Eeeeeeee! I love them! I love them! Notice how enthusiastic I am about most
female human characters - they tend to kick more butt. A Sorceress is only a
tiny, microscopic bit stronger than the wizard - it won't make a difference.
However, while a Wizard has better Defense and HP, a Sorceress's resistance
to magic is much better. Besides, when do you leave your Wizards and
Sorceresses undefended? Very rarely. Love Sorceresses. Love them well.

Class: Cleric
Prefered Alignment: High
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Healing
Middle Row: 1 X Healing
Back Row: 2 X Healing
Stats: Requires a good INT and MEN.

Eh, not that good.
...
...
Kidding, kidding. :P These girls are absolutely phenominal, and will probably be
*the* most useful human female characters. They heal. And usually quite a bit,
too. How else can you heal in the game? Sure, you can stay at a town, but often
you won't have enough time before enemies strike. Answer to this problem?
Clerics. They also have a pretty good magical defense, as well.

Class: Freya
Leveled up from: Valkyrie
Prefered Alignment: High
Attacks:
Front Row: 2 X Cleave
Middle Row: 2 X Cleave
Back Row: 2 X Magic *or* 2 X Cleave
Stats: Requires a good STR, VIT, and INT.

Yeah, baby! 2 Attacks no matter where she is. That can be very useful. The
elemental magic affects either a 2 X 2 square, or one character and then all
adjacent by less, like a Siren or Archmage. Personally, I prefer them in the
middle row, but the front or back both can be nice.

Class: Diana
Leveled up from: Archer
Prefered Alignment: Neutral
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Shoot
Middle Row: 2 X Shoot
Back Row: 3 X Shoot
Stats: Requires a good STR and DEX.

Absolutely incredible. The Diana is very, very strong, has reasonable magic
defense, and dodges attacks like crazy. Stick her in the back row - you can't
go wrong. I love putting three Dianas in the back row. Mwa. Ha. Ha.

Class: Dragon Master
Leveled up from: Dragon Tamer (duh!)
Prefered Alignment: Neutral
Attacks:
Front Row: 2 X Thrust
Middle Row: 2 X Thrust
Back Row: 2 X Thrust
Stats: Requires a good STR, VIT, and DEX.

Not bad at all! These give dragons much more strength and all around statistic
benefits, but they can also hold their own alone. They have an average evade
rate, pretty good power, and 2 attacks from anywhere. Stick a dragon on one
side and a Freya in the front row, Dragon Master in the middle, and a Priest
in the back (the three girls in a column), and you can have a very powerful
group. Especially if the Priest is Aisha!

Class: Siren
Leveled up from: Sorceress
Prefered Alignment: Low
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Magic
Middle Row: 2 X Magic
Back Row: 2 X Magic Plus
Stats: Requires a good MEN and INT.

I am in *love* with these girls! Sure, they're not as cute as the Sorceress,
but not only do they get 2 attacks in the middle row (just in case you get
attacked from the side or something), but in the back row, they hit a 2X2
square, or one character and all adjacent (for half damage). They have
considerable magic skill, better than the Archmage's. You should see it when two
Sirens or Archmages combine their magic to make a combo! *Bam*! Try three for
undeniable fun!

Class: Priest
Leveled up from: Cleric
Prefered Alignment: High
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Healing Plus
Middle Row: 1 X Healing Plus
Back Row: 2 X Healing Plus
Stats: Requires a good INT and MEN.

Drool. Drool, drool, drool. These are absolutely fantastic characters, and will
probably be your most common of all the female humans. Here's her deal - you
know how an Archmage or Siren, in the back row, can damage a 2 X 2 Square, or
one character for normal damage then all adjacent for a little less? The
Priest is like that, except, of course, she *heals* that way. And it's a *lot*
of HP, too. If you have a Priest in your unit, bunch them together, if possible,
to maximize effectiveness of the healing. (If you don't have a Priest, it's
a good idea to spread them out more - it makes them less vulnerable to a
Siren or Archmage's attack!) Of course, beware - the enemy can be very, very
annoying if one of their units has a Priest.

Class: Princess
Leveled up from: Amazon
Prefered Alignment: High
Attacks:
Front Row: 1 X Magic
Middle Row: 2 X Magic
Back Row: 2 X Magic Plus
Stats: None needed! Yay!

Well, she's okay. She's hard to get because it's difficult to get her items,
and though she's powerful, she hardly seems worth the hassle. Just like a
slightly weak Siren or Archmage, one that can be high aligned. Nothing special.

Well, nothing, unless you include the fact that, if she is leading the unit,
all of the characters except for her get an extra attack. Yes, you heard right.
Try bunching her with two Dianas in the back row, and two Paladins in the front
row, and you can seriously have 15 attacks. Plus, think of how much a Priest
could heal! Or what about a Third-stage dragon, Princess, Dragon Master, and a
character good in the middle or back row? That could be simply phenominal.

In Bordeaux, Tenne Plains, a woman will tell you about her beautiful silk
dress. On the 15th of any month (daytime only) in Melphy, in the Dardenelles
Region, a man will sell you a Bolt of Silk for about 2000 goth. Head over to
Billney, Tenne Plains, with a unit led by a girl, and a man will make
the Pure-White Dress for you.

The Battle Fan can only be found in a level's overworld, but I usually finish
my game with at least three. Gules Hills has one, but you'll find others.

For the Dream Tiara, go to Blue Basillica. In Clemona, you'll receive the
Package for Gelda. In Boolem, Crenal Canyon, you'll be told to take it to Elle,
at the Zenobian Border. You *then* go to Tristle, Soathon. Pant! Finally,
you get the Letter from Gelda. Head back to Clemona, Blue Basillica, and he'll
finally pass up the Dream Tiara. Thank goodness.

Class: Centurion
Leveled up from: Amazon
Prefered Alignment: Any
Attacks:
Front Row: 2 X Slash
Middle Row: 2 X Slash
Back Row: 1 X Slash
Stats: Requires a good VIT, INT, MEN, and DEX. You must have promoted about
eight soldiers to Fighters or Amazons.

Not bad, but not many leaders promote so many soldiers. Like I said for the
guys, I can never tell the difference between female and male centurions.
Blah. Although, I must admit, Europea is pretty cool...

Stuff about Liches (yes, females can turn into Liches, too!) will be conquered in the Undead section.

Cool! Send me back to the Ogre Battle 64 page!

Nah, I'm headed for the main page.
