Tournament Rules
1. This is SUICIDE SPADES. Each game has a MAX of 5
hands or win by score, whichever comes first. Final
round is win by score; no hand limit. IF a tie results,
please contact the host.
2. This is SUICIDE SPADES. At least 1 member of
each team must bid nil or double nil. If a team fails to
do this, the team will forfeit the match.
3. Kibitzers are allowed if all players at table agree &
are not disruptive to the game. Do not turn off Kibitzing
& do not silence kibitz at the table - the host may need
to contact you. To do so may result in disqualification!
4. Cards are to be hidden at all times unless tournament
host requests otherwise. If a player is found with open
cards & a kibitzer on his/her lap, they will be
immediately disqualified!
5. No reseating once all are seated & bidding has
commenced. Exceptions are if a bot makes an illegal bid
or makes an illegal play. Please see host for approval
prior to reseating. Score will be kept manually after a
reseat.
6. Disable all communications devices (Disable means
cut them completely off; No Away or Silence Modes)
including, but not limited to, ICQ, POWWOW, CoolTalk,
Ding!, Netmeeting, Zone Messaging.
7. Lag and drop-offs (2 + 5 Rule) If a player drops, boots
or is booted due to 2 min lag, pard will hold last card for
5 min. If booted player has not returned in allotted
time, a substitute must be used. It is the responsibility
of the booted player's pard to hold the last card.
8. At least 1 original team member must be present
for entire tournament play or that team forfeits. Players
eliminated from tournament may become subs in later rounds.
9. 3-drop rule If a player drops off or is booted 3 times
during one game, a sub will replace that player.
10. In the unlikely situation where all 4 players are
booted off the Zone due to technical difficulties, the
game is to be restarted. (See Host for specific
instructions)
11. If a substitute is needed, the remaining pard must
notify the host of his/her choice. If you can't find a
sub, let the host know & the host will try to assist you.
12. Table talk is not allowed during game. Anything
said to tip a players hand is considered table talk. Social
& congratulatory comments are fine but best made
between hands. Examples of table talk are: Set Em,
Bag Em, watch The Bags, Whew, TRAM, or directly
referring to a current play. Acceptable talk (Nice Set
(after set), GHA, GGA, ect...). Host will make decision
on all Table Talk Matters & Host Decision is Final!
13. Players may take a 5 minute break between games.
If you must take a break during play, please try to wait
& hold last card & announce BRB. In-play breaks should
be no more than 2 min.
14. Please report your game results to the host
immediately upon completion of your match.
15. Players may not participate in more than one
tournament at a time. Also, players should occupy
only current room during tournament.
16. Fighting & name-calling between teams is
UNACCEPTABLE behavior. The goal of these tourneys
is to provide some fun & friendly competition.
17. In addition, all standard zone rules apply.
18. Any other questions or issues, please contact the
host.
First team listed has choice of tables except for finals;
host chooses finals table.
Please find your opponents in the Lobby.
Please allow your pards/opponents 5 minutes from
end of assignments to show.
