There are actually three games of this name. Information above is for games in the following sequence. Alan Moon's game is a monstrous design covering much of Western North America and has many features of both 1829 and 1830, with many new ideas; Bill Dixon's design is smaller by comparison; Colin Barnhorst's design is also very large (I saw an early map), but I know little else about it yet. Information below is for the Alan Moon design, as it is the only one I have seen.
