2038 is a major extension of the 18xx game family: for the first time, the 18xx system goes into space. The companies are involved in the exploration of the asteroid belt, and a random map keeps things unpredictable. Instead of trains, corporations purchase different types of spaceships. Corporations are transporting ores to bases for processing. No tracks (no surprise there!). There are independent companies, which may become corporations.
